Whats happening with the coal fired powerplants in the Four Corners area? Are they still in operation? There are several huge powerplants in AZ and NM. They supply electricity to a big chunk of CA. If they shut down, how will all of the CA pussies charge their Chevy Volts and Nissan Leafs?
In my small part of the world mother nature has added another item to your list of problems. Flood control/hydroelectric dams supply power on a daily basis for those hours of peak demand.
For the past 14 months we have received less than normal rains. With the combination of high temperatures and little rain the power pools of the hydroelectric dams are dropping. At the present time they are no where near the bottom of the power pools but should we experience another year of the same weather conditions that is not a happy thought about the supply of hydroelectric power.
EPA has said these inefficient coal plants are not needed. A coal fired plant with a 90 - 120 supply of coal on site would look good to me as a back up against a mistake or problem that no one could predict.
My grandfather was not an educated man, but he was not stupid. He always had at least a years supply of wood cut and stored in advance to keep his family warm in winter and to cook their food.
Had he had a energy policy similar to EPA, the 0bama administration or wackos like the Sierra Club, grandad would have waited until the kids turned blue to go look for that days supply of wood buried under a foot of snow somewhere out in the woods .
Your liberal friend is right about one thing, the rise in temperature is almost totally man made. But, its not real and comes from manipulation of temperature records. Some of this manipulation was intentional, some just through faulty methods. That helped to make the case that CO2 levels was the cause, a theory that gets weaker everyday. Temperatures are not rising, yet CO2 continues to go up. The negative impact of CO2 is that the government is shutting down perfectly good power plants at a time when we need reliable, affordable energy to support economic growth.
I don’t believe that bullshit about the demand for electricity declining.
The shutting down the coal fired generators, yes. That was what the majority of those that voted, voted for.
I doubt if I will because when it reaches that point I will be dead of old age, but, what I would like to see is the sonsof bitches who want to see us living in the stone age again starve to death because they do not have the intelligence to live off the land on their own.
Obama really does seem like the proverbial President “from hell”. If The LORD wills he will be undone, but we MUST repent and turn to Him with all of our hearts, asking Him to do what is only possible for Him to do, which is defeat Satan and his hordes of demons that have taken over way, way too much of our Country. The Old Testament stories about Israel taking over The Promised Land definitely come to mind. Faith in God and doing His will is our one and only hope, but oh what a hope it is.
It was heartbreaking watching this man on FOX this morning. He was really distraught. Folks in Ohio and WV need to get some information on there own.
Mr. Murray created OhioAmerican, and our production began in May, 2007, said Mr. Piasecki. The Mine was intended to last for at least ten (10) years. Now we have been forced by our own Countrys President and his followers and supporters to permanently close the operation, added Mr. Piasecki.
There will be additional layoffs, not only at Murray Energy, but also throughout the United States coal industry due to Mr. Obamas War on Coal and the destruction that it has caused to so many jobs and families in the Ohio Valley area and elsewhere, said Mr. Murray. Both Mr. Obama and Vice President Joe Biden stated that there would be no coal in America prior to their elections, said Mr. Piasecki. They are making good on their intentions while they destroy so many lives and family livelihoods in this area for no benefit whatsoever, he concluded.
