I’ve been kvetching about this for some time now. Nobody wants to go galt.

The person you need to step up is YOU. Do you produce wealth? Do you surrender it to the government on demand? Then you are funding America’s destruction.

You can whine all you please online, grumble through your keyboard about America’s decline, but if you are paying your taxes, your actions speak louder.

The Founders had careers too. They had families to support. Bills to pay. They put everything on the line.

If the government were faced with a legal tax revolt — the productive taxpayers suddenly going unproductive in order to deprive the government of taxes — the government would surrender promptly and beg for mercy.

Instead, you want to keep voting and hoping for relief that never comes. It’s 2012, you SEE what’s inevitably coming, and still you do nothing that makes any difference.

And don’t crow about your guns. If you surrender your money you’ll surrender your guns, when the demand comes. Even if you didn’t, they’d just wait until you went to work (to pay your taxes) and then they’d go in and take your guns. And your precious keyboard too.

You are so right and the fact is that it wouldn’t take that many. The way our tax code is set up if the top 5% just stopped working and earning income and lived off of their accumulated wealth it would come crashing down in short order. But the most productive among us live to produce. If they stopped working they would die and the Altruists know it. It is their own virtues that they use as the weapon against them.

I try to personally, legally, starve the beast. I try to avoid anything with an attached tax, or find a way to pay less. I will not voluntarily be used as a slave simply because the self serving politicians need my sweat equity to buy votes for themselves.

I by used, make my own, swap services for services. I buy used cars (less consumer tax) and drive them until they die (I call them "disposable"). We do our own car repairs. Books on car repair for any vehicle are easily accessible.

I use food products to make my own cleaning supplies as much as possible. Food is non-taxable. A search engine will offer ideas if anyone else is interested.

I don't buy prepared food. It's taxable. I cook my own. If we travel, we go in groups (gas taxes) and pack food for the trip (Chic Fil A is the only exception to the rule right now) .

I buy from E-Bay, Amazon PERSONAL sellers, flea markets (all non-taxable for now).
I prefer non electric items, because why pay the extra taxes on the electric bill? Besides, with the economic situation today, tomorrow there may not be electricity available.

After awhile, this becomes more of a game and a lifestyle. Not only does it help us and not the politicians, it gives us something more productive to do than sit in front of a TV all day, whine about taxes, and simply pay.

If every tax slave in the country tried their best to avoid attached taxes, even if just a little, the beast would be left with very little to eat.

We can survive without the governments money, but the government can't survive without ours.

Utter bullcrap.

There is one way out, and one way out only. PRODUCE.

Excellent post!

We need to start walking the talk, if you will.

We all need to go galt. To begin, we need to have a coordinated week long strike of all the business owners and workers in the country who are sick of being denigrated as greedy capitalist pigs by the left. Shut the country down for one week to show who really produces.

Well said, Lady Lucky! As Americans we have not shown the kind of courage it will take to turn this nation around. It’s really no more complicated than just saying “NO! I will not participate in the destruction of the lives of myself, my children or my neighbors!

There would be NOTHING legal about a tax revolt...

The productive citizens of this country would not be of sufficient numbers to effect a serious threat to the amount of revenue that will still be collected by the government...

Our government will never surrender or capitulate to any loss of revenue due to the insignificant amount of people who would consider falling off the productive scale, and into a nuetral state of feduciary existance...The government WILL always find a way to make up for the revenue shortfall...

We have always had the ability effect change in the way government does things, every two years we get to do this...What has happend is in effect, Americans have grown very apathetic, where only an insignificant amount of people who do see where this is going are saying and trying to fire others up about these issues...

When we lose that ability to effect change at the ballot box, then, I would be concerned...And that is when a few more people will wake up and see what we already see...

You are correct...The people that need to step up are those who have not waken up to the severity of our feduciary predicament...

Truthfully, I do not believe our numbers will swell enough to dramatically effect the change of attitude our government has in regards to utilizing our tax dollars in a responsible manner...
