A delegation of top law enforcement officers from throughout Wisconsin descended on our offices a few days ago to tell us about their push to get a federal law passed that would eliminate the loopholes to the 18-year-old Brady law that requires background checks to purchase firearms.
The problem with the law, named after President Ronald Reagans press secretary who was shot in the head during the 1981 assassination attempt, is that it applies only to federally licensed firearm dealers. Even at that, some 1.9 million gun purchases (10,200 in Wisconsin) have been stopped since 1994 because the background checks discovered serious problems ranging from felony records to mental illnesses.

“Top cops” are no longer interested at their level in law enforcement, all they care about is power over citizens & getting themselves elected to high office.
Over the last week, more were killed by gufire in Chicago than were killed at the movie in Aurora. Chicago supposedly has the strictest gun control laws in the country but has become the murder capital of the USA. So much for gun control and loopholes......

Barring total confiscation, these tyrants want every weapon to be treated like a Class III machine gun (the British model).
For the first time, this past year there were more law enforcement officers killed by guns than were killed in automobile crashes ........ Notice how it says “killed by guns” not “killed with guns”. Blame the inanimate object, not the person using it. Typical lefty thinking.
