Olympic tickets: More put on sale
BBC News ^ | 30th July 2012 | BBC News

'More Olympic tickets will go on sale after the row over empty seats, organisers Locog have said.

It said an initial 3,000 tickets - including 600 gymnastics tickets - were "put back into the pot" and sold on the London 2012 website on Sunday night.

More tickets returned by sports federations would be released the night before events, Locog added.

Transport chiefs say London's morning rush hour went well on the first full working-day of the Games.

Prime Minister David Cameron, meanwhile, said the empty seats were "disappointing" but not "a unique episode" with other previous Games facing similar problems.

At some venues, seats in the accredited "Olympic family" areas - reserved for groups including officials, sports federations, athletes, journalists and sponsors - have remained empty.

Locog communications director Jackie Brock-Doyle said organisers were doing everything they could to fix the problem.

"We're doing this session by session, talking to the accredited groups - including obviously broadcast media and everybody else - and asking whether we can release, for the different sessions, tickets back into the public pot," she said.

And she said accredited seating for London 2012 was down 15% on previous Games.

Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt said: "Often these are very nice seats in very high-profile positions - and so what we're saying to the IOC and the International Sports Federations is if you're not going to use them, could we have as many as possible back, because, of course, we've got lots of members of the public who would dearly love to go."

What do they expect? They open ceremonies with two dung-divers swapping spit at the flame lighting ceremony then to see the endless American bashing and environmentalist crap the politically correct moonbats have covered London with... it's no wonder they can not sell their seats. These ass-clowns bite the hand that feeds them (America) and then wonder why their games are going to hell in a hand basket?

Of course the bust returning, anti-American obomba will say it's Bush's fault and to a degree it is. Bush should have, while still serving in the White House, insisted that obama be properly vetted. He did not and now the world is on the verge of collapse.

My opinion.

Did you actually read the article? It's not that they can't sell the seats, it's that they reserved large blocks of tickets for VIPs and other connected people who then didn't bother to show up nor give their tickets to people who would go in their place. All this while there are thousands of commoners who want to go but can't get tickets.

Um...you’re the victim of a rumor.

I watched the Opening Ceremonies start-to-finish on the BBC and at NO time did any homosexuals kiss on camera. There was a report of someone doing that earlier in the day during the torch run, but nothing I know of was EVER shown on camera. In fact...they showed a very heterosexual kiss between a boy and girl that was part of the Opening Ceremonies program.

If there’s any America-bashong...it’s coming from the idiot commenters on NBC. If anything, THEY are the ‘ass-clowns’. Pretty much everyone else is HAPPY that Team USA is there.

Yes, I acknowledge that you have a beef with the Olypmics...but check your facts, please.

The problem is NBC caters to the lowest common denominator, who doesn’t know squat about the rest of the world.

The average Brit is broke. They can’t even fill the English Premier League stadiums.

When this Olympics is finished it will go down as the most expensive toilet flush in British history. Can’t wait for the British press to smell blood in the water.

Governments have fallen on lesser failures.

A lot of clubs are in big trouble financially, Rangers FC went into Administration and are basically knocked down to the Scottish Fourth Division....Portsmouth is about to be dissolved completely. It won't be the last.

Ah,....the commoners. Would they be like say the ‘proletariat’? The average man. Ah yes, communism divides the classes so nicely. I don’t care what your history says, having a King or Queen in 2012 is lunacy. I guess you’re right. They are very common.
