......The Romney campaign paid its bill last week, about a month after the city sent its invoice. The Obama bill, on the other hand, was sent in May and has not been paid.
City spokeswoman Tara Finnigan said the city's billing system would be sending past-due notices.
About three weeks ago, the Democratic National Committee contacted the city and told officials to deal with the Secret Service.
The DNC and the Republican National Committee split their Newport Beach event proceeds with the respective campaigns.
...... Councilwoman Leslie Daigle, a Republican, said, "It's the city's intention to apply its usual policies and send the bill to collections.".....

Mitt paid already
Obama did not - what else is new...
Why would Newport Beach accept a cost without know who, what and where to invoice?

What would happen if cities refused to provide any police support?

Then, the City of New Port Beach tells the Secret Service that they have 100% of Obama’s security. The Newport Beach PD will serve and protect the citizenry while the Secret Service does its security gig. Very simple — even a federal bureaucrat can understand it. Will it happen? No.

The Obama campaign has been burning up money faster than it comes in. If this continues some advertisers and vendors may stop extending credit. That would be a “teachable moment” for a guy who spends like a crackhead.

Isn’t this illegal?
If this was a campaign event for Obama, the Secret Service paying the bill will be taxpayers paying the bill...
Am I confused?

You’d think that these towns and cities would learn not to provide the extra police support until after they got the money in advance. This is about the 5th or 6th story I’ve seen this year in which the Obama campaign and the Secret Service have stiffed them on the overtime bill.

Seems to me it is. I don’t really know though as this guy reaches beyond the moon to grab/fabricate “reasons” to make the visits official rather than campaign.

Wonder if Newport Beach could bill the hosts (can't remember their names) if Obama or DNC campaigns will not pay. They are the ones who offered to hold the fundraiser at their Corona del Mar home.
To: Cincinatus' Wife
Newport Beach should refuse to provide extra security for future visits until paid in full.
