Chick-Fil-A protest could boomerang
Miami Herald ^ | July 30 2012 | Glenn Garvin

Posted on 07/30/2012 4:40:04 PM PDT by scottjewell

...Progressive politicians from coast to coast were lining up last week to keep Chick-Fil-A’s...restaurants out of their towns after the company’s president... made statements that [he supports traditional marriage]. . .

Chicago alderman Joe Moreno, called Cathy “bigoted” and “homophobic” and added: “Because of this man’s ignorance, I will now be denying Chick-Fil-A’s permit to open a restaurant in the 1st Ward.” Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel said that goes for the entire city: “Chick-Fil-A values are not Chicago values.”.........

You know who the big loser will be in that scenario?

Progressives and their companies. Because, like it or not, they’re the ones who don’t share majority values.

Across America, the right to gay marriage has appeared on the ballot 32 times over the past few years, and it has lost every single time. Only six states and the District of Columbia issue licenses for same-sex marriages...

If pandering progressive politicians are allowed to put Chick-Fil-A out of business, you can bet that the folks on the other side will be doing the same to Amazon.com, whose founders just donated $2.5 million to support a gay-marriage initiative in Washington State.

Say so long to Oreos (Nabisco, earlier this summer, put them in a bag featuring a cookie with a multicolored gay-pride stuffing) as well as Cheerios, Pillsbury pastries and Green Giant vegetables (owner General Mills is opposing a Minnesota constituional amendment that would outlaw gay marriage). JC Penney, which has put pictures of gay dads in its catalogs and uses Ellen Degeneres as its spokeswoman, will be history. And we’ll all be living in Murfreesboro.

The support CFA has received is heart-warming. Where in the hell does a Rahm Emanuel divine his wisdom? It is scary that he believes he is so wise he can dictate to his masses. Very disturbing.

Think I found why the gays went after Cathy. It wasn’t because he spoke out for traditional marriage. Seems Cathy has a foundation that has donated $1,188,380 to the Marriage and Family Foundation. That much money will go a long way toward combating the gay agenda. He also donated to the Family Research Council and the GA Family Council, plus other Christian organizations. The gays go after people who pose a threat to their plans.

Me too.

Between radio and Free Republic, I get all the news that matters, and I don’t have to waste time watching idiots. I am getting a lot more accomplished, too.

I do have the 99$ Apple TV, and can watch really great programs through that, via Netflix, YouTube, etc. I do not miss a thing, and used to be a confirmed Cable News junkie.

I wonder how long it will be until the rest of the country realizes that they aren’t getting their money’s worth on cable.

I am supposed to forgive our enemies, and I try, but it is very hard to pray for these “progressives”. They are so arrogant that they do not think they need our prayers.

....and the other over-riding question is: when and why was open season declared upon Christianity ?

Was it Jim Baker and that other TV evangelist scum bag ? Was it the gay priest molestation exposures ? Was it the 60's free love generation and it's incompatibility with religious values. Whether everyone in the country is religious or not, the country was founded upon religious values and probably can't sustain without them. Tocqueville noticed that long ago.

Plan to eat at Chick-Fil-A on August 1st. I am tired of the bigoted and violent attack on anyone who voices a tru moral fact.

There is a strong undercurrent going on amongst the patriots right now. I’m beginning to catch the code words in conversations between strangers. Example was this morning. I was tour guide for one of the buses taking tourists from a river cruise around town. One of the questions that I was asked, “Is there a Chick-fil-A around here?” I said, “No, but if there was one, I would be there for lunch today.” We both got the message.

They were lined up even more this morning at the mall.

General Mills is dead to me. I’ve stopped buying their products. Let the homos keep them in business.

I’m looking forward to being near a Chick -fil-a on August 1st.

Thanks. And yes to the antibiotics. My pinkie finger was bigger than my middle finger and I thought it was going to burst. Now it is only twice as big as the other little piggie that went ‘Wee wee wee, all the way home’.

The dogs are usually sweet. But they ‘packed’- one of the worst things I have seen. Each dog had a limb in its mouth. I don’t think it is in the neighbor’s budget to spay and neuter all nine dogs. I am going to approach hubby and see if he can find some way to offer to pay for it in a way that is not offensive. That is what I want for my Christmas present this year.

Wow, that’s awfully kind of you - and quite necessary with all those dogs. Take good care. SJ
