A man who shot and killed a Dorchester man in a downtown fracas early Sunday morning was licensed to carry his firearm, is cooperating with a police investigation and has not been charged with a crime, authorities said yesterday.

“At this point in the investigation, it appears he may have acted in self-defense, and he has not been charged at this time,” Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley’s spokesman Jake Wark said about the unidentified shooter.

Prosecutors said it appears two groups of people encountered each other at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday in the downtown area of Atlantic Avenue and High Street.

About 250,000 CCW permits in Massachusetts, a "may" issue state. This is about 3.8 percent of the state population, which is a respectable percentage.

2:30am, isn’t that soon after closing time for the bars? Not too many good things happen at that time of night.

The real shocker in this story is that the shooter is getting genuine due process in MA, by 1) not having his name leaked and 2) getting the case referred to a grand jury. George Zimmerman, OTOH, is getting railroaded in FL, having had his name, photo, and address leaked and having been denied a grand jury hearing so he could be indicted. Moreover, it seriously looks like the shootee in this case, one "Dumayne Chin" could easily be one of Holder's people. OMG, que pasa?

No, from elsewhere on the web, I think this was Holder person on Holder person which is why the race pimps are not on airplanes right now.

The news is trying to play it out as a simple self defense shooting, but “dozens” of shots were fired. That would be more than 24. I saw a picture of a planter and counted over 20 bullet holes in it. This was really some kind of gun battle on the street, but the news does not want you to know.

No, see my previous post.

The headline of this article is purposely deceptive.

A better and more descriptive title would have been “Dozens of Shots Fired in Fatal Waterfront Shoot Out.”

You’re probably right, but it probably wouldn’t matter in this case. Because MA is “may” (not shall) issue, it’s an even better bet that the shooter is politcally connected at very high levels in MA, so it won’t matter who he shot, as long as they aren’t politically connected.
