When I was a baby, I lived in Bunch’s Hollow in Claiborne County TN. My dad ran a mine there producing zinc for the war effort. It was just a couple of miles from Goin, Tennessee.

Both Bunch and Goin are Melungeon names and many Claiborne county folks have Melungeon surnames.

It would seem Huessien is not only related to the Karbela immam of old but to American Melungeons as well.

Very interesting, that the name Bunch is Melungeon.

Weren’t (aren’t) the Melungeons a mixture of native american, white, and black? If so my guess is that the descendants of the white woman and Bunch/Punch joined the Melungeon group, but of course Ancestry.com has no real connection.
