NYC Council Speaker Christine Quinn asks NYU to evict Chick-fil-A

A powerful New York politician claims she was just speaking as a private citizen when she tried to run Chick-fil-A out of town, but she used her official letterhead and even invoked her position as City Council speaker to apply pressure on the embattled chicken chain.

New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, who has mayoral aspirations, sent a letter to New York University president John Sexton on Saturday asking the school to immediately end their contract with the fast food restaurant. The Atlanta-based company's sole New York City outlet is in the school's food court.

"I write as the Speaker of the NYC Council, and on behalf of my family. NYC is a place where we celebrate diversity. We do not believe in denigrating others. We revel in the diversity of all our citizens and their families,” the letter begins.

"Let me be clear -- I do not want establishments in my city that hold such discriminatory views," Quinn, an open lesbian who recently married her longtime partner, also wrote in the letter. "We are a city that believes our diversity is our greatest strength and we will fight anything and anyone that runs counter to that."

Love this, thank you!!!

I’m afraid that any Chick-Fil-A franchisee who is counting on the cooperation of a university to sustain them had better find another business model. The campus nazis are goin’ scorched earth on this one.

...she was just speaking as a private citizen....

"I write as the Speaker of the NYC Council..."

Can't be both, my dear...

"We are a city that believes our diversity....

Except for diversity of opinion, apparently, an opinion that President Obama held until a couple weeks ago. He started this, by "metamorphosing" on gay marriage, he in effect gave permission to the pro-gay faction within the party to unleash the dogs of war.

This is a war we'll win. We have the numbers.

Crystal Night?

Is that the same as the Night of Broken Glass? Just wondering.

I work in decent proximity to this CFA in NYC. I will be heading there after work. It may be closed for the summer. Not sure. I want a chicken sandwich after reading about them all day! Will report back.

It seems as if this ass has realized that even in NY her comments were too outthere to be wise.

Back before Chic fil A, when I'd heard that this open Lesbo wanted to be Mayor a chill went down my spine as i considered the dangerous possibilities that this generally morally corrupt person might bring into being. Guess we all got a glimpse of this kind of mind in action well ahead of time.

My God, NYU practically owns most of the Village! I’m sick of seeing it swallowing up precious space in this city. As someone who takes evening classes at NYU on occasion (never knew there was a Chick-Fil-A on campus), I’m amazed at its immense wealth and vast empty spaces. The halls are practically lined with marble!

And yes, Chick-Fil-A will be out on its ass in a New York Minute (as non-New Yorkers always say). Sad.

Last lines from “A Knight’s Tale” sum her up:

Wat: You have been weighed.
Roland: You have been measured.
Kate: And you have absolutely...
Chaucer: Been found wanting.
William: Welcome to New World. God save you, if it is right that he should do so.

NYC is a place where we celebrate diversity. We do not believe in denigrating others. ---end quote--
But if they don't line up with what we believe or agree with us then by God we want them outta here right now! But we sure do love diversity! Oh, by the way..."WE are the DIVERSE, resistance is futile."

The German term for the event, Kristalnacht, translates literally as "Crystal Night".

Agreed, and this explains how King Bloomberg continues to remain in power.

The answer is as simple as this -

Because dear Christine, the open lesbian, would get her head chopped off if she dared criticize Islam. She knows it, too.

So what does Quinn have to say about the bodegas, restaurants, hardware shops, etc. that are owned and/or run by minorities, who by and large share the same view as CFA?

Would she go to, say, Washington Heights in upper Manhattan and demand that those store owners "honor gay marriage or else"?

Does anyone doubt that these fanatics would launch a "brownshirt" movement, like that of Hitler's militant homosexual ally Ernst Rohm, if they thought they could get away with it?

Flash mobs are exactly that. Obama is following Hitlers footsteps.

I think most of these loud mouth liberals could couldn't care less about Chick-fil-A or any of this stuff they claim to be “concerned” about...

How does she feel about the mosque near Ground Zero? Does she think it’s appropriate to celebrate the deaths of thousands of New Yorkers?
