lefts want a collapse too

guess both sides think they will dominate in an evened out playing field but it will still be conservatives vs liberals

I think the tipping point will be anger and frustration more than a collapse

please don’t vote for O :(

I broke the habit of listening to Savage a couple of months ago. Once in awhile I read this column to see if it is worth going back. Still not worth it, I see. The I’m smart, I’m rich, the contradictions, and not wanting to be there, (if he puts so little effort into being there why should I put any effort into listening to him) put an end to it for me.

I remember watching that on the T V.

Vidal kept yanking Buckley's chain.. I remember Vidal mocking Buckley's support of our military by telling the audience "here's a man who never fired a gun in anger his entire life" or something like that.

I was thinking what would it be like to be Savage.. earn millions talking about yourself a couple hours a day. Mention a news article or two.. express your opinion about 'em then tell the audience what you had for lunch or something.

Didn't use to be that way the years that I never missed a minute of his show when he was local on KSFO.

I heard Limbaugh's first hour today and some of the callers really brought back memories of what it was like in those dark "Fairness Doctrine" days.

One caller said when she first heard Rush she had never heard those (like hers) opinions expressed on radio and she feared that he would be arrested. (That was the most oft-expressed caller comment back then: "You're saying what I think! I didn't know that other people had the same opinions!")

I had listened to Rush from the day he started on KFBK years earlier which was the day after Morton Downey, Jr. was kicked off the air for saying "Chinaman" on air.. the Sacramento lefty nut cases finally got him fired.

When Rush left for New York I figured the Left would easily destroy him because the rest of the country would not "get" his style.

He was quickly made the poster boy for the "angry white male" and I think that it was Time that connected him to the violent movie "Falling Down".

IDK I am really getting sick of him, I turn off more than I tune in
Godfather, ratzenberg, katzenber schtick is really really OLD already
I shut off the show today when he called a Lamborghini a LAMBO
I swear he is a liberal in disguise hate how he condescends to beck and hannity because they aren't college educated guess what?
beck packed the national MALL awhile back and over the weekend had 65,000 go to his event-with virtually no publicity, hannity is making way more money than savage is

I remember Savage comments from time to time suggesting that radio consultants are advising to do less politics -- my first thought was that the consulting agencies were being run by the DNC.

Maybe Savage fears losing Cumulus stations. I think they own almost 600 stations and recently decided to put Mike Huckabee on 140 stations against Rush Limbaugh.. who's laughing out there? Stop it.

They apparently intend to drop Limbaugh as his contracts expire at the stations they own.

(Investment hint: short Cumulus stocks.. you'll be able to buy them in the future for pennies on the dollar.)

Cumulus is pushing their guy to advertisers as "more conversation, less confrontation" referring mostly to the Sandra Fluke fluke.

I recall that Savage has said that talk radio is changing and he intends to be leading the way.. yeah, sure. Return to "fairness doctrine" radio voluntarily.

I mentioned above that callers to Limbaugh's 24th-year show recalled hearing Limbaugh's conservative opinions, liked what they heard for the first time on radio, but feared that he would be arrested.

I remember the decades of the "Fairness Doctrine" -- maybe not arrested for speaking out.. but he and the stations owners punished nonetheless as soon as the liberals' shills could file complaints with the FCC.

But at the time Limbaugh was on national syndication President Reagan had ended the "Fairness Doctrine."
