Another freeper on the other thread had an excellent point : that on the same day that the WH leaked that they were supplying the insurgents in Syria with missle launchers, Panetta was giving a public statement that the Syrian military needed to stay in control to secure the WMDS.

This is one of the major problems when you try to remove someone through a third party surrogate force. You really have no control of the situation on the ground. It will be far worse then Iraq. Sure, we disbanded Saddam's forces, but we replaced them with a stronger US force. In Syria, we will replace a strong force with a weak terrorist force. So Obama/Hillary's genius plan is to keep the Syrian forces together, the same forces who had their commander killed in a terrorist bombing. Another one of the brilliant DINO plans. Expect the RINO's under Romney and his right hand man McCain, to ride to the rescue and send thousands of US troops into the breach.
