Lawyer: Sandusky upset over Penn State sanctions
By MARK SCOLFORO | The Associated Press – 43 minutes ago

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) -- Jerry Sandusky is distraught over the NCAA penalties issued to Penn State's football program for the school's handling of his child sexual abuse scandal and maintains his innocence as he awaits sentencing, his defense lawyer said Wednesday.

Attorney Joe Amendola told The Associated Press in a phone interview that Sandusky told him that even if people believe he is guilty of the crimes for which he was convicted in June, it would be ''ridiculous'' to think Penn State administrators engaged in a cover-up.

''He said, 'To do what they're doing to Penn State is so unjust,''' Amendola said. ''He loves the program and he loves the university.''

Amendola said Sandusky has asked county jail officials to remove him from what is effectively solitary confinement.

Of course he does. It allowed him to continue his predatory abuse of boys for decades.

I totally agree. Put Sand-butt-ski into the general population . . . and let us watch. Let's see how far the sodomite pervert gets in the yard.

PA Pinger.

Strange; I always thought that once "lawyer's work product" had been divulged to others not part of the case it was no longer considered privileged.

I can imagine the inmates pulling one over on old Sandusky. Have the skinniest most hairless inmate befriend him and get him alone. Yada yada, the next sound of skin slapping the wall might not be so fun for the old pedo.

''He continues to believe that the truth will come out at some point, and that he'll get another trial or another opportunity to establish his innocence,'' Amendola said.

I believe the truth has already been established. You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time.

The jig is up, Jerry. You are guilty of molesting and raping many young boys, and there were witnesses to some of your disgusting acts. A jury of your peers has found you guilty of almost all of the charges that were brought against you. You should quit while you are ahead.

By all means, if Sandusky would prefer to be released from his protective solitary confinement, let him be released. He may think that he can win over a few buddies over there, but I'll wager he regrets that choice.

He’s like the students at Penn State. He’s really upset about all the problems he’s caused for Penn State football. The kids who were raped...not so much.

Wednesday, the NCAA announced it had picked former U.S. Sen. George Mitchell of Maine to monitor Penn State's compliance with the sanctions.

He'll surely be popular on campus.

So contrary to what the Penn State footballists were claiming, the NCAA penalties did do something to punish the perp.
