BOONE, NC (WBTV/WIS) - The owner of the largest Wendy's restaurants franchise in the world showed his support for competitor Chick-fil-a with a message on some signs in the Carolinas.
WBTV has learned of at least one Wendy's sign in Columbia, South Carolina that read "We stand with Chick-fil-A" on Wednesday morning.
A couple of hours later, that sign was taken down.

The cynic in me says he got a good look at the free publicity and the lines forming at the Chick-Fil-A.
More businesses need to do the same. It would send a message to the gay mafia that they have lost this war.
apparently, disagreeing with gay marriage means you hate gay ppl
It's been reported that CFA had their best day ever. I can't blame any Wendy's franchiser for wanting to get in on that.
Exactly! I’ll bet some CEOs are pondering making some comments of their own.
In truth, I think it would be hilarious if all large fast food chains would come out and say they stand as one with Chick-Fil-A.
My wife came up with a funny line she heard at work. If may have made it’s way here already, but here goes.
So some people are going to boycott Chick-Fil-A for saying something homosexuals don’t like. Are they going to stop buying gas too since homosexuals in some OPEC nations are executed?
Oh, it’s smart business alright. And I have no doubt that you’re correct about the “best day.”
I was going to stop there and buy some, but there was so much traffic, they actually had a couple of cops out directing, and a looong line in the parking lot.
LMAO Yep, less lice, less cooties, less stinky female armpits with hair...
But the company back stabbed him; and, totally misrepresented the issue as "serving all regardless.."
lol! I’m in San Diego and am elated that the ‘normal’ crowd will no longer be dining at CFA.
One Nation under God. If we cannot agree with God in public, then free America is dead.
Seems that Wendy’s franchise’s took the correct action and supported Chick-fil-A but the upper management decided to force them to shut down their support.
I’s say that I would no longer have to support Wendy’s after this and am really disappointed in them - they were one of my favorite burger joints.
Too bad, it seems that way too many want to jump on the bandwagon of tolerance (ie. political correctness) - but it’s really just a worse form of intolerance! Too bad that most of these folks don’t know the difference.
The Constitution spells out the problems and the solutions but nobody seems to listen these days!
Sounds pretty good huh.
It would be interesting to know how many peope CFA served today compared to a normal day.
I’ll bet it was thousands more per many units.
The left reportedly got about 100 people out to complain. We got literally thousands out there to spend money.
Complaining doesn’t cost money.
Supporting the fast food chain does, and our side still got many more out there.
Can you see how hungry good people are, to find a good cause they can support? This may be the start of a new movement in the U. S. The nice thing about this is, it’s something Whites, Blacks, and Hispanics can support with glee.
If I were the Obama team, I’d be changing my underwear about now.
That may have been what started it, but she didn’t see it in this format to my knowledge. I could be wrong, but she didn’t mention it.
Thanks for the graphic. Nice...
Has In ‘N Out come out with a statement? There’s too many threads to keep up with.
:)
Yes, as though Chick-Fil-A refused to serve gays, and that was the basis of the controversy. It is a disgusting lie, and a reason to avoid Wendy's restaurants not owned by this franchisee.
I think Chick-Fil-A will enjoy an ongoing substantial increase in their business. This isn't just a one-off surge. They are now on the conservative map.
This came from an otherwise quiet individual who never chimes in on things political. I do believe this issue has affected many that way.
And you are right...the intolerant left has awakened a passion in the Right, a passion that could cost them big; here's hoping it does.
The corporation is going to clamp down on this guy
