Wall-to-wall gaffes, by the media
The Washington Post ^ | August 1, 2012 | By Jennifer Rubin

Posted on 08/02/2012 1:39:23 AM PDT by Brad from Tennessee

I’ve written it before, but yesterday I saw it to a degree I thought impossible, even in the mainstream media. The political press created a feeding frenzy over nothing, actually building an entire narrative on its own ignorance. The topic was the connection between culture and prosperity. The media en masse decided this was either racist or radical.

It’s neither. In fact since 1961, USAID has been promoting “civil society” with the hope that this will help build more prosperous, freer societies. Its Web site states: “As the Arab Spring powerfully reminded the world in 2011, democratic governance and human rights are critical components of sustainable development and lasting peace. Countries that have ineffective government institutions, rampant corruption and weak rule of law have a 30-to-45 percent higher risk of civil war and higher risk of extreme criminal violence than other developing countries. . ."

What's the difference between Tijuana and San Diego? Culture, political governance, traditions, habits, culture.

they’ve done it many times.

Remember “blood libel” and somehow Palin used the term incorrectly.

“death panel” how it never existed and that it was long discredited

Palin made a “Paul Revere” gaffe with media rewriting history

Wow, after the whole article even Rubin says the press is more interested in getting ‘clicks’ and getting it first instead of getting it right. And that Romney BETTER learn to live in it.

Wow
just
Wow

Upon what is the Muslim culture built? The answer is raids, muggings, capture of young men and women for slavery. They were nomads of the desert interdicting the lines of communication that crossed near them and killing and plundering all they could. Why do you think the Christians went on the Crusades? To protect the pilgrims going to the Holy Land. Not much has changed.

Exactly. To visit over there you see forests planted by hand in Israel. Surrounding Arab lands are desert. No attemt to make the land tillable or forested.

When Gaza was abandoned to the animals they destroyed almost everything good, such as productive greenhouses.

Well I say it is up to us, freepers and other informed and sane individuals to get onto facebook and blogs and whatever else and expose the incompetence of the political press to those who are still duped by them.

“Why do you think the Christians went on the Crusades?”

We should have finished the job when we had the opportunity.

It’s not ignorance, it’s evil. The press knows full well they have the power to shape opinion, and abuse that power daily.

I think that was to be expected. Using what the enemy has left implies acceptance of their success, of the value of what the enemy has accomplished.

Anyone with half a brain knows that Romney’s observations were right on the mark. Oh, I’m sorry...I said anyone with half a brain. Big Lib Media members brains don’t get up to even half-size.

Right. Like the Muslim Brotherhood engineering ways to dismantle the Pyramids and the Sphinx, ala the Taliban firing howitzers at the ancient Buddhas in Afghanistan to erradicate all vestiges of civilization and the past, ala China’s “cultural revolution”.

A thin veneer between civilzaiton and chaos.

Yesterday I read about a media type doing a man-on-the-street interview at the London Olympics and didn’t realize that the man he was interviewing was Evander Holyfield.

I see this with news anchors all the time. They have no sense of history or how the world works or who performes such work.
