Midlanders who didnt think Chick-fil-A could become anymore crowded than it already is were proved wrong today.
Supporters from around the Permian Basin showed up in droves at both the Chick-fil-A on Loop 250 and the restaurant in Midland Park Mall. Some waited in the drive-thru line for more than an hour, while others stood in a line* that stretched outside and around a portion of the building so they could place an order.
Id stay here for four hours if I had to, said Maryann Harless, who had been sitting in the drive-thru for about an hour. I stand for what (Dan T. Cathy, president and CEO of Chick-fil-A) stands for. Gods going to bless him tremendously.
The controversy surrounding the chicken chain started in July when Cathy told a Baptist publication that hes guilty as charged for backing the biblical definition of a family. According to the Associated Press, Cathy said in another interview, I think we are inviting Gods judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at him and say, We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage.
The statements incited a backlash from gay rights groups and also caused mayors in Boston and Chicago to make it clear they dont believe Chick-fil-As stances, or in some cases its restaurants, belong in their cities.

Thanks.
By the way, there sure a lot of homophobic bigots everywhere, aren't there.
Maybe there’s hope for this country after all.
You got that right!
