Could be the by-pass surgery. I have 3 friends in their 50s who’ve had it, and they all have the same cough. But then I’m not a Dr, and I don’t sleep at that motel place... just a wild guess.

Just a hunch...but Im guessing a touch of congestive heart failure that causes the cough...THAT or allergies...I have more often than once asked mark about mold in teh carpeting in the bunker...that can casue it too...but my best guess is that his pump isnt working at 100% ergo the cough.
