Romney Tells Harry Reid To 'Put Up Or Shut Up' About Tax Returns

Mitt Romney took a shot back at Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid this afternoon, responding to Reid's apparently baseless claim that the Republican presidential candidate did not pay income taxes for 10 years.

"It's time for Harry to put up or shut up," Romney said on Sean Hannity's radio show this afternoon. "Harry's going to have to describe who it is he spoke with, because of course that's totally and completely wrong. It's untrue, dishonest, and inaccurate. It's wrong." 

Reid, who doubled down on his claims about Romney's taxes on the Senate floor today, said Tuesday that he learned about Romney's tax returns from an unnamed source at Bain Capital. But Romney suspects that his opponent had a hand in starting the rumor — an equally baseless accusation. 

"I'm looking forward to having Harry reveal his sources," Romney told Hannity. "We'll probably find out its the White House. Look, the Obama campaign is gonna do everything in its power to try and talk about anything besides the president's record."

Harry Reid is a despicable, corrupt turd of a man.

That he is the head of the Senate of the United States is a travesty that has to be corrected on November 6th.

History will show that Reid,Pelosi,Obama and Biden were the worst, most corrupt group of leaders this country has ever seen.

Rachel Wiener, whose instincts for the jugular are showing signs of being highly attenuated, added this to the Warshpost tale: "Earlier in the day, Romney adviser Eric Fehrnstrom offered his own sweeping denial and likened Reid’s accusations to the anti-Communist witch hunt conducted by Sen. Joseph McCarthy (R-Wis.).

“His charges are baseless and untrue,” Fehrnstrom told the same radio station. “[T]his reminds me of the McCarthy hearings back in the 1950s, and it was another son from Massachusetts then, Joseph Welch, who finally asked the question that should be asked of Harry Reid, which is: Have you no sense of decency, sir?” "

NOW, the hard question that makes this particular story of VITAL concern to Conservatives ~ why does Romney have a guy working that close to him (and Fehrnstrom is really close) who believes Senator Joe McCarthy told lies? After the fall of the Soviet Union the Verona papers revealed, lo and behold, Joe McCarthy had the names, the numbers and was quite truthful.

That we can have someone like this idiot Communist Criminal Coverup artist that close to a potential president is really disturbing.

I think Eric needs a new job somewhere else, or maybe we can ask Romney what he thinks about McCarthy and commies.
