The election is Obama's to lose ~ takes an awful lot of work for a Republican to make up that 10 million starting point vote deficit.
Fur Shur each and every serious Republican candidate should have made sure during the primaries that he or his running dog lackeys (let's call them that for laughs eh) did not needlessly irritate or anger the voters in any particular state, particularly a SWING STATE.
That sort of thing comes back to haunt you in the regular campaign.
Romney forgot that the Republican base in Virginia is remarkably Conservative ~ and irrespective of the lies McDonnell and Bolling were telling him, he, Romney, would have to work hard to earn their support.
In the end Romney let his running dog lackeys ruin the primary and a pitiful remnant bothered to even show up.
The consequence is that Romney probably can't get a majority of voters anyway, so folks voting for Goode are simply putting voice to their angst over their betrayal by the GOP-e.
Following that we expect the remainder of the Virginia GOP-e to get flushed down history's toilet in next summer's Republican Convention ('cause we ain't doin' a primary again until it's fraud proof).
I have a different perspective of the recent Virginia history. McCain did not run a campaign in Virginia. I know that for a fact. I had to hold my nose and even personally purchase the signs for my region of the Commonwealth. I've seen Romney now more times here than McCain ever was. And the organization that Ive seen so far is outstanding. Once he is nominated and elected as the Republican Presidential nominee, watch what happens. Since hes not elected, there are McCain-Feingold rules that have to be complied with right now since it is a federal election.
Don't get me wrong though, Romney was not my first or even third choice for the nomination, but neither was George Allen (Jamie, Bishop Jackson, Delegate Marshall), but Romney and George won the primaries. I don't want Barry or Tim in the WH and Senate and I've been working for years now on the local and Commonwealth level with the Tea Party and Republicans to ensure that this doesn't occur. I sure as hell dont agree with George, but I want him voting for a new Senate leader that is Republican who will be surrounded by one of the most conservative group of Republican Senators in recent history. This will change who is appointed to replace Ruth and potentially others. I shiver at the 5 to 4 votes that they have done both ways that affect our freedoms (Kelso, Heller, ACA, etc.).
At this point in time, the RPV and of all of the campaigns are more organized, focused, and conservative than I've ever seen (Im a comehere but been here a time). And this comes as a continuation of the historic 2009 election, changing our representation in the House in 2010, taking control of the Senate and local offices in 2011. The RPV State Central Committee is now comprised of more conservatives than RINOs and the vote to make next year's mechanism for choosing the top three positions a convention proves that. Hopefully that will ensure that our AG becomes our next Governor - but I get ahead of myself.
The predicament that were in now didnt happen overnight and were not going to get out of it overnight. Once any of these people get elected, we need to hold them accountable and continue to vet conservative candidates to replace in the future as part of the growth system. The Dims in Virginia are truly hurting because they lost their farm team and will be running McAuliffe next year. How sad is that?
I ask again how has Romney needlessly irritated or angered the voters in Virginia? If you are referring to the Republican primary, he didnt cause the problems that occurred. What is your basis for that, if thats what you mean? I worked on getting signatures for several of the candidates, not including Romney, and the primary problems were not caused by his campaign or by Ron Pauls campaign (who as you know also satisfied the SBE requirements).
Im not sure I understand what you are looking for, your insight, or what you are doing about removing Barry from the WH and stopping Tim from entering the Senate.
Ill be at next summers Republican Convention to support and vote for Cuccinelli. Will I see you there? In the meantime Ill be working my a@@ off the next 94 or so days to get Romney and George elected. I will crawl across broken, heated glass with people on my back, holding my nose to vote to remove Barry and stop Tim.
