Although I understand where you are coming from, it is clear that it SHOULD NOT be a capital crime. The reason being that having a punishment one level above whatever they will receive for NOT killing their victims is necessary as a deterrant to keep them from killing their victims. Yes, the destroy lives, but I would rather have my child abused and alive than dead. Read some of the works of Cesare Beccaria for some additional details. The only logic to have them executed rather than locked up for life is that you do not believe that the death penalty is a deterrant. Everything is else is emotion and not justice.
