On Veepstakes for Romney - Jonathon Karl is putting his money on “big and bold” vs safe choice. George Will agrees.

I missed it. But I am surprised that George Will thought it would be big and bold, not safe. Did he and Karl say anything more? Did they suggest whom they thought he might pick?

...the new 3.8 percent tax on investment income including flow-through business income, interest, dividends and capital gains.

****

Since Gov Romney did not take a salary for the 2002 Olympics gig or the Mass Gov gig, it is possible/probable that he only has these four types of income - which until now have been treated separately, and at a lower rate than earned income with all its FICA obligations.

He, his wife, his accountants, and his close advisers are definitely smart enough to foretell how the dems would sell these different tax rates as “loopholes.” Or worse - felonious tax evasion.

Nevermind the amount of money in the checks he has sent to the IRS each year, because of his large net income!

George Will just said the longer this went on, the more he leaned toward the camp of bold vs. safe. I don't think either one said who they thought it might be.

Hi all,

Just popping in briefly as we’re going to the Seahawks practice today. Saw the Blue Angels perform yesterday - - which was FABULOUS! Always gives me goosebumps :-)

Here’s an article on some of the players behind Freddie & Fannie and the $$s they received:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2851712/posts

I remember reading an article on FR that detailed what Predisent Bush tried to do wrt Freddie & Fannie, but can’t find it right now. For anyone that’s interested on some history (most if all of you already know this), here’s an article I saved and the page is still on the Internet from 2005:
The Fall of Fannie Mae:

Best,

Used to be:

democrats<—Media—>Republicans

Even and fair.

%%%%%

Not really, AB. They just were not in our face on a 24 hour cycle. My memories go way back - to when, for example, we eagerly waited to hear what George Will would say in response to his other panelists. His was the most conservative view allowed on network tv, and Sunday shows were practically the only political commentary all week.

Need I say Cronkite!

I come from Baltimore, where my mother was pointing out the bias in our local newspaper when I was but a child. It has only gotten worse, but bias was always there.

Oh. Well, I dunno. I think “the longer this goes on” is a stupid comment on his part. Mitt is just waiting until after the Olympics and until he is closer to the convention to announce his VP. I see no pressure building one way of the other. Portman or Pawlenty are still as likely as anyone. Maybe McDonnell. Maybe Thune. If anything, I sense that Rubio’s star is fading. The only other “bold” name I have heard of late is Sandoval.

JMHO, the NBC/MSNBC hard left turn is only the beginning.

They’ve lived for years on their own fabled objectivity and people (even the most unthinking) have been witness to so many gross breaches of faith that they just tuned out on the punks, leaving them with no market at all but the Lib/Commie/So-called-Progressive nut fringe.

Come back toward the Center?

No way. What’s left of their viewership would drop ‘em as traitors, and nobody else takes them seriously enough anymore to really care if they just pulled the plug on the entire operation.

Check out the Rapidly-Becoming-Invisible cable “news” organization formerly known as CNN for the mechanism that’s going to put ABC/CBS/NYSlimes/WaPo/you-name-it on that same course.....most likely within the next sixty days, but certainly before November, and followed in very short order by the entire house of cards falling down and going boom.

I’d say that I’m going to miss them, but I never was any good at BS.

All I’ve got for them is good riddance to bad rubbish.

See any merit in John Sununu as VP? He put Andrea Mitchell in her place by recicing all the off-shore jobs O formed with OUR money (Green energy to Finland etc.). He also knows DC and where all the bodies are buried. He is quite combative w/o the Newt stench. He is only 73.

The “longer this goes on” was not a comment that Romney should hurry up. (I’m paraphrasing from my memory.) It was merely a comment like....as time goes by....

Don't usually post to myself.

I just heard the bent axel on with Wallass.

He's totally invested in class warfare and "we can't go back to the ones who brought us here." They drove the bus into the ditch, blah, blah, blah class warfare and its all GW's fault they have nothing and nothing new.

the bent axel really sounded desperate to me. Maybe the rumor mill that suggests he is down in swing states is true.

If we don't show how taxing the rich grows the economy and causes 700k job loss the idiot will never stop claiming that rich people don't create jobs.

He thinks he has a winner.

He's also claiming zero cut taxes but fails to mention he did it on the backs of seniors by jeopardizing the socha security fund. This after cutting medicare a half trillion through obamacare zero really hates seniors. He cut it 4%.from 7.65 to 5.65.two percent employees and another two percent employers. But, the fund suffers a huge hit of almost 30%. Its typical of a cloward piven driven regime collapse the system strategy.

All true but can’t be reduced to a short sound bite.

"Romney's tax returns? That's what the Left-Wing uses as their own Birther stuff."

I watched the Cruz I know and he was just that...he obsesses on getting Obama & Co OUT.

If you watched, you heard what he said about the Tea Party and about Romney.

I predicted it, because I realize he MIRRORS the state of Texas. This is how they will vote, not because they want Romney but because of Obama and they do not agree the answer is to stay home, vote third party etc.

I voted for Cruz.

I haven’t and don’t plan to vote for Romney, and have announced that many times.

But that’s because I don’t want Romney but my state will vote against Obama and I don’t have to worry about it. I know my state. When Texas votes for a Yankee Mormon rather than Obama, you KNOW what is driving them, and instead of insulting them and calling them libs, just relax if you’re me, they’ve got my back.

That is also Ted Cruz.

Moaning and groaning and “oh, he betrayed the Tea Party” talk, notwithstanding”.
