Cruz: Tea party ‘overwhelmingly’ behind Romney
The Washington Times ^ | August 5, 2012 | Sean Lengell

Ted Cruz, who rode a tea party wave to win the Texas Republican Senate nomination last week, said Sunday the movement will “overwhelmingly” support Mitt Romney in the November presidential election.

Mr. Cruz said tea party activists will rally in defense of the presumptive Republican presidential nominee because they’re “energized” to defeat President Obama.

“I have spoken with literally thousands and thousands of tea party activists, and I have yet to met a single tea party leader that is not going to vote for Mitt Romney and work hard for him,” Mr. Cruz said on Fox News Sunday.

“Our country is in crisis, and we’ve got to stop this Obama agenda if we’re going to preserve opportunity for our kids and grandkids.”(continued)

Sadly, Ohio is a swing state and not everyone there understands that binary means zero or one. In this case the default is zero.

You’re right, but as you said, when people believe in something, they wouldn’t want to hear anything different. It’s just a fact of life.

Romney is called flip flop

Is that the best you can do? Can't handle that the guy is a POS and you ate the turd cookie! But you are a known liberal here, anyway.

You are going to be disappointed. They will back Romney 100%. They are.....not irrational.

Hitching their wagon to a festering, moribund political party that has descended to the point where it's nothing more than a pale "me too" to the statist Democrat Party. The "Taxed Enough Already" movement will likewise be disappointed to discover that the Gelded Old Party likes taxes too - just a little bit less.

I’m really tired of those on FR that are content to cut off our collective noses to spite their face.

You know what? Fine. Split from the Republican Party.

May history forget you were ever our brothers. We will forge ahead to defeat the forces that wish our national destruction without you.

Rest assured, if we fail this November the chains of opression will weigh equally on us all. If we succeed, we will be content in knowing it was without you Sunshine Patriots.

If you really don’t understand the gravity of this election, then you are of no use to us.

There is no monolithic Tea Party platform. I’ve met all kinds of people. The one “overwhelming” theme is see America end it’s fascination with progressivism. Cry, crawl, walk, run seems to be path humans take. That’s progress. I would say the TP is well into the second stage and starting to hang on the furniture as it learns the third. The abortion didn’t work.

I don’t hate Romney, nor Obama for that matter, because as a Christian we are called to love our neighbor as ourselves. However, I hate what Obama stands for and the evilness in his motives. Romney was never my choice and I really wrestle with the concept of living with the fact that I might not vote for him - but will for the candidates with clear, concise conservative principles. I am voting as a conservative Christian - not as a Republican and until Romney convinces me that a person like me can fit in his “world” I am holding fire. But don’t accuse me of something that is not true.

Psssst! Hey! Guess what? WE'RE CONSERVATIVES, NOT REPUBLICANS! THIS IS A CONSERVATIVE SITE.

Sigh...I get tired of these Republicans who come here and assume that this is a GOP forum.

If I had to choose a label for myself it would be “strict-constructionist”...a tiny minority these days.

I guess you are voting indirectly for Ocrappy? I dislike Romney, but the choice is between Romney and ZERO. The others are there to help O win.

“Are you including the owner of this site in your assessment?”

Am I not allowed to differ with Jim on a subject. I notice that a lot of people include Jim in there responses to me when I disagree with them. Maybe they are trying to get me kicked off Free Republic. Is that also your wish?

There is no use in trying to convince anyone of the ABR group in here to vote for Romney. They would rather see America turned into a communist third world $hithole before they would vote against their “principles” (regardless of the consequences to those “principles” in a second Obama term).

Forest for the trees so to speak....

I doubt it. Only Catamites for Willard will be welcome at the Geriatric Old Plotters convention show.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

BUahahahahaha! You could be right about that, maybe they would be so Catamitic, that they would all just kick off and be driven to the nearest interment facility.
