NEW DELHI -- India reacted with grief and outrage at the news that at least six Sikhs were killed when a gunman attacked them Sunday in their Wisconsin temple as they prayed and prepared food. Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, himself a Sikh, said in a statement Monday that he was shocked and saddened by the news and extended his condolences to the families of the victims.

I don’t think anyone is saying that violence against Sikhs is justified, but going on a retarded ‘death to america’ muslim-style rant is not going to do much for their cause.
Its just going to make them look like another typical bunch of angry towelheads with a grudge against America...

Any dude that can pick his nose with a 3 foot long cutlass needs to be taken seriously.

I don’t know this guys party affiliation and neither do you. He may not even have one, so quit making stuff up. Most of the people who do stuff like this don’t care about political parties, they just hate.

I’m not condoning the actions of an isolated idiot in the US. Nevertheless I’m not going to take seriously the outrage of India with the protests and demonstrations when HUNDREDS were killed and THOUSANDS driven from their home in 2008, not in some distant past event.

Was that the aftermath of the Muslim terrorist attack on the train carrying Hindu pilgrims? The train was set on fire and the pilgrims were burned alive. If that then the resultant attack on Muslims can be seen by many as a part of the War on Muslim Terror.

I asked a legitimate question not making up anything. Being a person of Indian origin I have a personal curiosity to know his political beliefs and his motivation. You may want to brush it under the carpet and pretend their is nothing but not me. From whatever I have read so far every evidence points to him being an extremist right wing. And moreover we are not blind or stupid. You and I both no how much love an average right wingers has for brown-skinned immigrants of my kind, leave alone extremist right wingers. If you have contrary evidence then I would appreciate if you share it with us. Until then I have my own conviction about who this guy is and what his political beliefs are.

“I’m not going to take seriously the outrage of India “

I think you should. Regardless whats happens in India, pissing off Indians and Sikhs is not a very good idea for the US.

I think they are fine being “towelheads”. And they have legitimate anger. That’s they part you don’t get. If they were worried about their appearance they would have done something about it in the 16th century under Islamic persecution, far less worry now about what White Supremacists or average Americans think about their “towelhead”.

I’m not referring to the fact that they wear a turban, only the fact that they are acting like disgruntled muslims, which many Americans already have trouble distinguishing between them and Sikhs anyway.

And no, they don’t have a ‘legitimate grievance’ against the US because of what happened. Why do the actions of one nutcase justify a crowd whipping themselves up into a yankophobic hysteria and attacking the US as a nation? Plenty of lily-white Americans have been senselessly slaughtered by lone fruitloops, most recently in Colorado a few weeks ago.

“And no, they don’t have a ‘legitimate grievance’ against the US because of what happened.”

I don't think you speak for the Sikhs. They have already voiced their opinion and quite clearly against numerous instances of killing and racially motivated assaults post 9/11. Too bad you don't like the sound of it.

I could understand this anger if the US Government or the public as a whole supported these acts, but they don’t. They are carried out by the occasional moron or lunatic who is either killed at the scene, or quickly apprehended and punished to the full extent of the law.

So again, tell me why it is justified that these Sikhs whip themselves up into a frenzy and start ripping up US flags and chanting anti-american slogans because of the actions of a few ignorant and/or unbalanced individuals. These people aren’t doing their fellow co-religionists any favours, because as we have already seen in this thread, many Americans will see what these people are doing, and simply consign them to the ‘angry raghead loser’ category and lose any sympathy they might have had for them...

The fact that you, in two different posts, have referred to them as “towelheads” or “raghead” is good enough reason for them to voice their anger against the general bias and contempt people have for Sikhs/Indians.

And what you choose to see as isolated incidents carried out by a few ignorant individual, they see it as a targeted hate crime activity by a very well organized group. Sikhs are warriors, they dont live off people's mercy or sympathy to worry about what Americans will consign them to.

I am using the word ‘towelhead’ not for what I think of them, but as a representation of what a lot of Americans will think of them when they see scenes like that depicted in the photo. Many already can’t make the distinction between Sikh and Muslim, they will simply conflate both groups in the same category, i.e. ‘angry ragheads’ and dismiss them.

As for your last paragraph, you seem to be justifying their stupidity and willful ignorance if they think that what has happened is ‘targeted hate crime activity by a very well organized group’ when it blindly obvious to any impartial observer that that is not the case. So why are you justifying their stupidity?

And i am telling you, they are perfectly fine with that characterization. They are perfectly fine being towel head or raghead. In fact they're proud of it. Those who have trouble making the distinction with Muslims are the morons. Not them.

And I don't think it's stupidity or willful ignorance. I think they are perfectly correct in their assessment.

At least when Indians do “sectarian violence” they recognize their real enemy, not kill random people with beard and turban.

I'm guessing you are young enough not to remember the 1984 anti-Sikh massacres. Some estimates put the deaths near 20,000.

Isn't it enough to be disgusted by this violence where ever it occurs?
