None Dare Call Major Hasan A Terrorist

A heavily redacted report – by former FBI Director William Webster (07/20/2012 “Houston Chronicle”, Page B1) – following a two-year review of the Fort Hood “shooting rampage” by Major Hasan declined to assign individual blame for “failing to prevent the November 2009 tragedy”.

Describing the deadliest attack on a U.S. military base (13 killed, 32 wounded) as a “tragedy” is acceptable since “tragic” can also mean “disastrous”. However, Mr. Webster’s statement “(Major Hasan) arrived at the deployment center 11/05/2009 and opened fire shouting ‘God is Great’ in Arabic” contradicts the Department of Defense classification of the major’s massacre as “workplace violence”.

From Day 1 the Commander in Chief of all U.S. military has appeared more protective of Major Hasan than in securing justice for the families of those killed and wounded and, indeed, for all U.S. military personnel. Reportedly, Obama’s protection included instructing Fort Hood soldiers and their dependents not to mention Major Hasan shouting God is Great in Arabic.

It will be interesting to see if the President can postpone the Major’s trial beyond election day 2012, coincidentally three years and one day after the deadliest terrorist attack ever on a U.S. military base.

This happened too close to where I live for comfort. It was the first time I knew that the soldiers on an army base are not armed—not even the MP’s.

I hope they have now changed that rule!

I also hope that this creep will burn in hell for all eternity.

The left and the islamists all gravitate to evi. I think they both think they will take out the other side after they have teamed up to destroy goodness.

He’s got the court tied up right now. He can’t appear in the military court unless he’s clean shaven. But he refuses to shave and has a beard. Now the court doesn’t know what to do.

Always wondered if this guy Hasan was a tortured homosexual and that is the real reason his trial is being delayed. This is a thirty five year old Muslim man who claimed he never married because he could never find a wife sufficiently devout. However he comes from a background where open homosexuality is simply not tolerated. As a troubled teenager he probably joined ROTC hoping a manly military experience might help him. Becoming a psychiatrist and a more devout Muslim was probably more futile coping. Always wondered just what army investigators found on his computer and apartment. Obama may have very good political reasons to delay an open rial.

I bet the media, the bureaucracy, and the politicians would call ME a terrorist in a heartbeat if I showed up on the floor of Congress with a cardboard cut-out in the shape of a firearm, and merely SPOKE harshly about them.

Of course truth is truth. Nidal was a Wahhabi Sunni. They are trained to kill non believers. He should be dead. Why do we tolerate his life. Look at his religious act . Kill him now on TV. This animal . This Godless Bastard.

And I don’t remember anyone clamoring for gun control after the Ft. Hood shooting either.

I heard a news report a few days ago that he would be tried, clean-shaven, even if the Army had to shave him. Has this now been postponed? Does anyone know the status of this trial? The internet apparently does not.

If I were in charge, I would make a temporary ruling that he can appear in court with with a full beard or anything else his little heart desires-—then I would have him quickly convicted and standing before a firing squad...........

But that’s just me-—I tend to not fiddle-fart around.........

Of course he was a terrorist, but the real question has not been answered fully, who’s terrorist was he?

Did he do it sole based upon the Islamic voices in his head or was he motivated for a political purpose?

As far as this shooter in Wisconsin I believe he just did it for money. Sure he was a neo-nazi but they just haven’t done things like this without an incentive.

Since the 80’s military personnel killed or injured by terrorism have been awarded the Purple Heart. Were any of those killed or wounded at Ft. Hood awarded the Purple Heart? I find it hard to believe that some did not apply for the award.

Back when I was in the military (when men were men and women were women and a distinct separation between them was the rule) we used to hold a “blanket party” for those who refused to abide by the rules.

It was amazing to see their attitude change for the better.

Tack on charges of Insubordination, one count for each time he appears unshaven. After the third count, try him in absentia on all counts. Alternatively, hold trial by cctv, if he continues to defy military protocol. This isn't rocket science, barring the PC interference, which should not be germane at any time...

Was fishing on a jetty ( Humboldt) a few months ago and met a father, a grieving father. His son happened to have hasan as a doc and the guy has serious PTSD. He had fled to the woods. Father said his son was trying to deal with all the bloodshed. Major hasan told him basically, you should feeel guilty. You killed good people and you should kill yourself. The mans son was there waiting for his appointment( don't know if with Hasan but in the area) when Hasan opened fire. Father did say his son said the guy screamed "Allah Akhbar" more than once.

I just listened. I see the father from time to time. Hasan needs to be front page but it's not PC...he's murdered 14 MILITARY and injured dozens. He deserves to be tried as a war criminal, a terrorist, not domestic workplace violence. he deserves death.JMHO

As with Cho, the VPI shooter, Hassan’s family thought he was strange and an outsider. They operate convenience stores in Northern VA and appear interested mostly in getting ahead. Both of these people were a sort of misfit in their upwardly mobile fairly assimilated immigrant families. For Cho there was just rage and insanity for Hassan there was the siren call of violent Wahhabism. Similar to the man who led the 9-11 strike. Another misfit and under performer in his upper class Egyptian family. These are examples of the ‘marginal man’ who is one of the most dangerous of outsiders because of his propensity to act out his dysfunction as violence. The Sikh temple shooter looks to be one of this type. Unfortunately Islam creates a great many of these characters as it is a system that routinely marginalizes a substantial percentage of its young men.
