The Curiosity Mars Descent Imager (MARDI) captured the rover's descent to the surface of the Red Planet. The instrument shot 4 fps video from heatshield separation to the ground.

Terrible news! As Curiosity made its descent, a life form resembling an Earth-like kitt-ah wandered into the path of the falling probe. As the probe hit ground - the unthinkable happened - Curiosity killed the cat.
