Emails obtained by The Daily Caller show that the U.S. Treasury Department, led by Timothy Geithner, was the driving force behind terminating the pensions of 20,000 salaried retirees at the Delphi auto parts manufacturing company.
The move, made in 2009 while the Obama administration implemented its auto bailout plan, appears to have been made solely because those retirees were not members of labor unions.
The internal government emails contradict sworn testimony, in federal court and before Congress, given by several Obama administration figures. They also indicate that the administration misled lawmakers and the courts about the sequence of events surrounding the termination of those non-union pensions, and that administration figures violated federal law.
Delphi, a General Motors company, is one of the world’s largest automotive parts manufacturers. Twenty thousand of its workers lost nearly their entire pensions when the government bailed out GM. At the same time, Delphi employees who were members of the United Auto Workers union saw their pensions topped off and made whole.
The White House and Treasury Department have consistently maintained that the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) independently made the decision to terminate the 20,000 non-union Delphi workers’ pension plan. The PBGC is a federal government agency that handles private-sector pension benefits issues. Its charter calls for independent representation of pension beneficiaries’ interests.

And with this line alone, Congress ie. the House should immediately hold a hearing and ARREST AND JAIL EVERYONE INVOLVED for PERJURY. Yes Congress has Police Powers and always has. These same squishy little weenies would not think twice about using their power against one of us for committing the exact same act.

My husband is one of these retirees. For the past three years, this group has spent over $2million dollars on legal fees, and have spent the last year in court to finally have documents released to us. We will not give up, because we have proof that we were wronged, although it was obvious to us from the beginning.
But the odds of this actually being corrected are? As long as this set of crooks are in office I will say nil, nada, ain’t gonna happen. They can never been shown as being wrong especially on their “signature” efforts.
Absolutely right. The House should subpoena Geithner to testify. If he lies (and he will), the lousy runt will always have a perjury charge lurking and with luck could be sued in civil court by those people who had their pensions stolen.
Out of its many failures, the one thing the Obama administration has been amazingly successful at is sending Americans to the unemployment line.
Hussein’s war on non-union workers should surprise no one.

The Obama Administration’s outgoing pardon list will be very, very, very long.
I wonder how many requests for pardons are being delivered to Holder and Obama for review and approval. I wonder how Obama is using these “get out of jail free” cards to enrich his campaign and his future life style.

He could sign a new executive order and pardon every person employed by the federal government under his administration.
