Mitt Romney would have been better off chucking the whole foreign trip and settling for a drop-in at a Chick-fil-A.
That is where his voters are, among traditional Americans tired of being pushed around and told what to think and how to live by politicians who, in other walks of life, could not run a Jiffy Lube.
That is why the people flocked to Chick-fil-A fast-food restaurants across the county. They wanted to show big-city, big-government Democrat politicians like Boston Mayor Tom Menino and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel that they believe in free speech.
