Fear and Shame on the Campaign Trail

Anyone who doubts the enduring power of the mainstream media need look no further than the rise in Romney’s unfavorables in a recent Pew Poll. Yes, this poll is likely skewed, but the percentages are too extreme to escape the conclusion that a large number of Americans do not find Mitt “Mr. Nice Guy.” (I met him and thought he was perfectly okay — but what do I know?) Obama, on the other hand, is still considered a swell fellow.

All this although the economy has been a disaster throughout his presidency and, for the last year, probably more, he has seemed a petulant prig when confronted with the slightest criticism. Not an attractive trait.

You would think under those conditions those poll numbers would be reversed and the election polls themselves would show Romney with a gigantic lead, but no. Like a nation of ostriches, huge portions of the American public have swallowed the media/Axelrod line that Mitt Romney is a rich self-interested capitalist out of touch with the masses, whoever they are and whatever that means(it doesn’t matter as long as they vote for Obama), hell-bent on robbing from the poor to give to the rich like a reverse Robin Hood.

I’ve been thinking ahead to election night. There’s a feeling that if Obama loses there will be rioting in the streets, just like when some sports team loses the championship. There will be days of unrest and charges of racism that haven’t been seen in the US since the 60’s. I hope I’m wrong and we haven’t evolved into a third world cesspool. If it happens, I blame OBAMA!

God grant me the Serenity
To accept the things I can not change

The courage,
To change the things I can

And the WISDOM
To know the difference

You lack WISDOM!

Pray hard.

Like it or not, Obama NEEDS to be thrown out!

It is going to be about the free market vs. communism.

Wait until the summer is over, the conventions done, the mud slinging is going to get worse.

Romney is a rich self centered capitalist who is out of touch with everyone. Ask the British [they have poor security?]
Ask the anti Israeli people [they have poor culture?]
{ I like to fire people] [elevator for autos] etc. etc.

It is like telling your wife that she is getting fat. It may be true, but it is poor judgement to tell her?

Some of us told you he was out of touch during the primary fights. Is it too late now?

But sadly, NO CHOICE in the matter.

FORGET about third parties, it will only help Obama. Got to vote Obama OUT!

I doubt the enduring power of the mainstream media.

Evidence? The 2010 mid-terms.

At that time people had already begun to feel they had been sold a bill of goods in Barack Obama, and the media, who shilled for him at every stage in 2008, were clearly the sellers. The media again shilled for Dems in each and every election in the run-up to the 2010 vote.

People seem to forget that the media was powerless to stop the monumental 2010 shellacking. How is it that the media were ineffective then, but have the power to persuade now?

Mr. Simon's evidence is in a Pew poll?

So what. I don’t like either one of them and never have, but it’s not going to affect my vote one bit. Other things are more important than whether some pol is a “swell fellow,” or even if you agree with most of their positions. It’s all about relatives, not absolutes.
