7:54 AM PT -- Sources tell TMZ ... Travis was BUCK NAKED when cops arrived to the crash scene. It's unclear why Travis was not wearing clothes.
We're also told the country singer refused to take a breathalyzer, so a blood draw was taken to determine his blood alcohol level.
6:24 AM PT -- Law enforcement sources tell us ... Travis was charged with "retaliation" because he verbally threatened a cop during the bust.
0314_divider_graphic Country singer Randy Travis was arrested last night in Texas on suspicion of DWI after crashing his car, TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ, Randy was arrested around 11:59PM with minor cuts and bruises. He was also booked on a "retaliation and obstruction" charge ... a felony.
Randy's car was the only vehicle involved in the crash.
Other details surrounding Randy's arrest are unclear. Randy is still in custody.
It's the singer's 2nd arrest this year -- back in February, Randy was busted for public intoxication for allegedly boozing in front of a Baptist church. According to the police report, Randy said he had just gotten into a fight with his girlfriend.
It’s too bad, too. Alcohol takes so many talented people down a thorn riddled path. I truly hopes he gets help!

He didn’t try to eat the face off the clerk who waited on him when he went in naked to buy cigarettes so I guess the culprit wasn’t the Zombie drug.
He is damn lucky he didn’t get run over while laying on the road.

When he gets home, then he can just play his music backwards, and all of his troubles will go away.
I’ll give him partial credit for not shooting up a theater or temple, but that’s it.
And the Lord showed me the way out of it. It wasn't easy ... but it was awfully simple.
I was close enough to Travis once to watch him interacting backstage with a whole lotta fans, and I was touched and impressed by how he attended to each one of them who had stood in line to have their photo taken with him after a long performance. Many of them elderly. Instead of taking an assembly-line attitude, as I'd seen other stars do, Randy took the the time to talk and listen to each one of them, putting his head close to theirs so he could hear what they were saying to him. It was pure, sweet kindness on his part.
I pray the Lord gives him strength to face down the demon alcohol. His songs "Pray for the Fish" and "Keep Your Lure in the Water" are especially inspiring songs.
Hang it up, cowboy.
