The controlling case law, as set forth by the U.S. Supreme Court in Graham v. Connor (1989), established that “[t]he ‘reasonableness’ of a particular use of force must be judged from the perspective of a reasonable officer on the scene, and its calculus must embody an allowance for the fact that police officers are often forced to make split-second decisions about the amount of force necessary in a particular situation.”

WHY IS THIS NOT ALSO THE RULE IN CIVILIAN SELF-DEFENSE WITH A FIREARM?

Think about it - when a cop is NOT using their firearm for direct law enforcement, they are using it to protect their own lives - right?

So how can the protection of their lives with a firearm be ruled as ANY different from a civilian protecting THEIR life with a firearm?

IMHO, it can't. And this equivalency MUST be openly pursued by gun rights organizations, AND WON, before Americans will truly HAVE gun rights.

I have friends who live in “Ana-Crime.” It looks like Mexico there, and you can pretty much kiss your car goodbye if you park there.

The law should be if you run from cops expect to be shot.

Running should be a very strong no no. Death because of being unarmed is an unfortunate collateral damage from running.

You run, you might die
