I'm sorry, but how is this starting anywhere?
Apparently, this woman was born in California (her mother is an American; her father is a Saudi), lives in California, and, from what I gather, it's hardly clear that she's ever even been to Saudi Arabia; if she has, it's only been a couple of times. She's never lived there, and never "trained" as an athlete there.
Moreover, even by the (quite liberal) standards that the IOC applies so as to afford an opportunity to women who come from certain countries where there is little to no participation by women in athletics, that this woman was allowed to "compete" in London was ridiculous. By any standard, she isn't actually an athlete in any meaningful sense. She apparently ran cross-country and track while in high school in Escondido, but then gave up organized, competitive running when she went off to college.
The point is, her "participation" in the London Olympics, as a member of the Saudi Arabian team, is a complete and utter fraud. The Saudis had been under some (nominal) pressure to allow for female participation, and this is what they came up with to placate the IOC. There is nothing to be "optimistic" about here. This isn't even politically-correct nonsense; it's a lie.
Personally, I prefer the U.S. women’s beach volleyball outfits. Much more freedom of movement and expression.
Per Islam religion, Hijab is the cloth that covers Head, all hair, ears, neck, and the upper chest part, but not covering face. Perhaps it would be better to use the following phrase. “Ban the Burqa”/sarc.
I'm sorry. Nothing to see here. Move along.
Yeah, yall look me up and DARE to call me a libtard noob.
Can't call you a libtard (as I don't know) but you are a noob. lol
So what are they really cheering? That she overcame the barbaric and backwards muslim attitude towards women? Her bizarre costume shows she accepts that attitude.
So exactly what are they cheering?
Oh, look. The Dhimmis are applauding the Saudis’ entry completing the race and finishing dead last! What an accomplishment. I am so thrilled — NOT. Another reason why the Olympics are irrelevant.
Does that mean they'll be replacing their photos of the sheep, goats, or boys on the night stand? No. A mere woman cannot compete for the carnal pleasures of a true Muslim males' heart! A woman simply cannot compare to the joys of bestiality and homosexual pleasures.
When she goes back home, some cleric will have her arrested, buried up to her waist in sand and then they will throw stones at her as a lesson to other females.
"Home," for this woman, is Malibu, California.
Same here..I'm glad she ran..it will open up doors for more women from Saudi to now compete..This is a good thing and will just be another prybar allowing giving women in Saudi more opportunities..
Yep, you gotta start somewhere.
Things are finally opening up freedom wise for women in Saudi. They are allowed to vote this year for the first time and in many locals they are now allowed to drive.
These two women competing in the Olympics is a good thing..
What do you mean by ". . . for more women from Saudi?" The woman in question isn't from Saudi. She was born, raised, currently lives -- and had always lived -- in California.
She represented Saudi..that is nearly the same. She was representing SA on national TV in front of SA TV viewers. Does not matter were she lives.
Again this is going to do nothing but open up doors for women in SA and give them more freedom..little by little but it is going in the right direction at least.
I couldn’t disagree with you more.
Maybe if she had a pack of rabid, scimitar-weilding Muslim men chasing her down to rape and kill her, she would have been much faster.
First they let a guy with artificial legs run.
Then they allow that South African man to run as a woman.
And now this.
libtard noob...
Saudi even allowing women to compete shows things are getting better for them (women) in Saudi.
Competing at that level wrapped head to toe in a sweltering stadium has to endanger the health of the participant. I am surprised they let her do it. If she had keeled over, I wonder what the reaction would have been?
