Years ago, I wrote a number of opinion pieces for an Israeli website, using the name Fred Nerks, because it’s such an easy to remember Australian name from folklore...someone from FR picked up one of the pieces and posted it here. That’s how I stumbled upon this website. I joined, and wrote a thank you into comments.
And guess what? I used the same name as the AUTHOR for my screen name.

Now tell me, Cyber Liberty, are you boy or girl, and why on earth would I care and what does it matter?

MY IP ADDRESS WAS TRACKED.I RECEIVED A LOG WITH MY IP NUMBER AND TIMES RIGHT DOWN TO THE SECOND OF WHEN I ACCESSED ANOTHER FREEPERS HOME PAGE. JUST HOW DID YOU DO IT?

People can do that by adding a link on their homepage to a counter website, that logs the IP address of the incoming request that is accessing the page, although unless you have a static IP addresss that is registered, there is nothing that would identify who you are.

That’s interesting, I wondered how it was possible. Sounds like anyone can install that device. So if someone told you they were in Texas for example, but they were really in another State, you could tell?

1) I'm male. There was some confusion for a while, because people associated my handle with the Lady Liberty in NY Harbor. When a nice person pointed that out, I added a line near the top of my profile: "I'm Lady Liberty's brother. Don't mess with her."

I was just giving you the business last night. I'm not usually a "serious poster," I'm more of a wise-guy. And I've read your posts for a long time (You're still a nOOb to me, though...lol). We recently got a new kitten, and his name is Fred, a highly honored name in these parts.
