Supporters of President Obama refused Thursday to pull a TV ad suggesting that Republican Mitt Romney caused a woman to die from cancer, a commercial that’s raising new questions about possible coordination between the Obama campaign and an “independent” advocacy group founded by a former White House staffer.
“You know, in the past when somebody pointed out that something was inaccurate, campaigns either pulled the ad — they were embarrassed,” Mr. Romney said Thursday on Bill Bennett’s “Morning in America” radio show. “Today, they just blast ahead.”
But officials at Priorities USA, a super PAC founded by former White House spokesman Bill Burton, showed no signs of canceling the advertisement that began airing this week. Even some Democrats say the ad finally crossed the line into the realm of the underhanded, with its strong inference that Mr. Romney has a dead woman’s blood on his hands.
The ad features steelworker Joe Soptic, who lost his job and health benefits after Mr. Romney’s Bain Capital closed a steel plant in Kansas City, Mo., in 2001. He describes how his wife developed cancer and died, implying her death was Mr. Romney’s fault.
It turns out that Mr. Soptic’s wife died in 2006, five years after the plant closed. And Mrs. Soptic had her own health insurance even after her husband became unemployed; she lost her insurance when she, too, lost her job.

None of that matters to an Obama Democrat. And it doesn't matter much more to your average "independent" voter. If you bring up facts in any counter argument, you get (blink, blink) blank stares. These people can't absorb a fact unless it's sugar-coated with comedy (Jon Stewart, Colbert, SNL).
This should backfire. Even CNN pointed out it was BS.
GREAT - here in TX a similar ad by dewhurst against cruz was reported to swing 3-5 % toward Cruz. I think people are getting sick of the Holier than thou message by Team Obambi. This will be a nail in the coffin.
Use Hussein’s words, Mitt.

Talk down to him, Mitt. Tell him “doubling down” only works in Vegas when a gambler knows what he’s doing.
And that Hussein only knows hate and allegiance to our country’s enemies.
Use all their buzzwords against them.
My husband told me that this is the PAC Bill Maher funded a million dollars. He heard it on the Jason Lewis radio show. Now it all makes sense as Maher is a sewer-level rat.

Golly, wasn’t Candidate Obama the guy who, throughout the 2008 campaign, said he wanted to make the political tone in Washington more positive?? Stop all the negative attack ads??
Why doesn’t Team Romney run a sound bite of Obama back then, and compare it with his viciousness today?
Romney’s campaign or his super PACs should answer in kind:
An ad featuring Grandma slicing up her can of dog food. Have her explain how her retirement fund was gutted when the Food Stamp President gave away her Government Motors bonds and stocks to his banker friends and the Unions. Have her weep and pray that the can will last her through the week.
Have a mother weeping at the funeral of her son, a border agent, who was killed by a Fast and Furious gun in the hands of an illegal immigrant working as a drug runner and informant for the DOJ.
Have a poor family sitting at the dinner table eating scraps and sitting in the cold because they have to save every penny to pay their taxes and pay their electric bill which subsidizes green energy companies that provide campaign donations to the Food Stamp President.
There is just too much good stuff to use. You need not worry about actual cases or people because you can explain it away as using “composites of real people” as the Food Stamp President does so often.
This is Fast a Furious comes to campaign financing. The idea is to kill off Super Pacs by having such outrageous ads that the public demands their end. To the advantage of the Rats.
Think about this.
Romney is the guy who lost to the guy ( McCain ) who lost badly to Obama. SO the Rinos choose to run him again.
Romney has run for office 22 times in his life. He has LOST 17 of those times.
I think you can see where we're headed.
Ramp up the fake birth certificate ads.
Ramp up the 19 different social security numbers Barry has.
Ramp up the closet Muslim ads.
Ramp up fast and furious to take away 2a gun rights ads.

I say you should fight fire with fire. Mitt should take his white gloves off and jump in the fight. How about the SOCIAL SECURITY number nobama has? The heroin? The travel to Pakistan?

I totally agree with you his responses are awful. But I’ll give you the reason why Romney isn’t angry; because he’s a typical politician with moderate views (at best.) The guy doesn’t have any real passion for the issues. To Romney, Obama is just doing what politicians do to get elected. Kind of like passing a mandate for health care as governor and then running a campaign as President to over turn a national mandate.
