Zimmerman Prosecutors In Huge Screw-Up(FL)
thesmokinggun.com ^ | 9 August, 2012 | NA

AUGUST 9--In an embarrassing screw-up, Florida prosecutors today accidentally distributed a post-mortem photo of Trayvon Martin as well as copies of George Zimmerman’s college records, material that Florida law considers confidential and exempt from disclosure.

The documents were inadvertently included in supplemental discovery records distributed this morning by prosecutor Angela Corey’s office. The material was sent to a variety of media outlets, including TSG, that have paid fees to receive discovery provided by the government to Zimmerman’s lawyer.

The photocopied picture of Martin was one of three taken by an unnamed witness. The photo mistakenly released by Corey is a black and white copy of an image depicting the teenager lying face down on a lawn.

After distributing the picture, a Corey aide sent an e-mail to reporters noting that a “photo depicting the killing of a person” was “confidential and exempt” pursuant to state law.

Zimmerman’s Seminole State College of Florida records--61 pages in total--include his original application to the community college and his class transcripts. The documents detailed Zimmerman’s poor grades, which landed him on academic probation last year.

Zimmerman, who was studying for an associate degree in criminal justice, did not graduate last year due to a failed class. Following the February 26 shooting of the unarmed Martin, Zimmerman “was issued administrative withdrawals” for three classes in the Spring 2012 term “with no fees charged against his account.”

From the comments: "As a retired police detective lieutenant, I find that prosecuters rarely do things like this BY MISTAKE. With the close eyes of the country and Media on this case, THEY don't want to come out on the lower end of this case. These things can and will taint a jury or at least confuse one of the revelent facts in this case."

Anyone who thinks this release was an ‘Accident’ is a complete and total fool. This was done INTENTIONALLY by the prosecution.

A picture of poor little dead child Trayvon along with college records showing how big mean monster stalker George Z was also unintelligent.

Good ole poisoning the jury pool tactics.

Corey is despicable for charging Zimmerman. She will end up being as notorious as Nifong, when this charade is finally over.

That's it...Rick Scott now has no choice but to finally fire the out-of-control Angela Corey.

Agree? Then Call Scott now: (850) 717-9337
Or email him HERE. (Requires County and Zip code, which you can lookup HERE)

I would hope that Corey does not have immunity for this. Zimmerman should sue. I would love to hear what Dershowitz would say about this; he would absolutely skewer that witch.

PS: I think Zimmerman has a lawsuit against any media entity that publishes his records.

And for the record, I would advise Freepers to not make any specific references to this information in comments, as it is further unauthorized disclosure.

Not that it matters.

This was no mistake. It was a deliberate choice by the prosecution to get information out they knew was in admissible, to bias the jury pool.

One has to wonder the relevance of college transcripts to anything given they have none to leading this country.

I wouldn’t count on it. And also: What are the chances this will go to trial before Election Day, Nov. 6? The reason I ask is because some folks think that if Zimmerman is found “Not Guilty”, it will cause such a rage in the Black Community that they will flock to the polls to vote for Obama. (Right now, his Black support is tepid at best.) Personally, I think that is Zimmerman is found “Not Guilty” it will cause race riots and will HURT Obama’s reelection chances. But, I doubt it will go to trial before Election Day.

Just curious; if anyone wants to chime in on this.

Since the Judge has already punished Zimmerman for not disclosing his defense fund, and has declined to recuse himself after claims of prejudice, what should he do in this instance.

I believe that if he lets this prosecution error go unpunished, he will completely open himself to charges of bias.

We now have about 1,000 times more actual documentation on George Zimmerman's personal history as we do on president Barack Obama.

Your point is well taken because one of the mottos in police work is: There is no such thing as coincidence.

The relevance here is the state is flailing around trying everything it can to come up with something which shows he had a bias before the shooting inasmuch as they have nothing else to go on. College records? Wow, we don’t even have “The Present’s” records which in my view is a tad more important than whether GZ passed his courses.

Maybe after failing to prove any case against George, perhaps her excellency can begin filing subpeonas for Obama’s records too. She can segway into another matter and take the spot light off this travesty.

More commentary here:

https://statelymcdanielmanor.wordpress.com/2012/08/09/the-trayvon-martin-case-update-15-2-the-real-criminals/

The case should have been dismissed at the first bond hearing when the prosecution’s investigator stated under oath that they had no evidence — NO EVIDENCE — to counter Zimmerman’s claim of self-defense. And they still have no evidence.

The public, on the other hand, has plenty of evidence of the State’s incompetence, negligence, prejudice, malice and deceit as evidenced by their handling of this case.
