The last picture I saw of a dog that amazed me was the one of the dog that walked into his owners memorial service (a soldier killed in action), laid down at the foot of the casket and stayed there until he was led away after the service was over. That picture was amazing.

My FIL had an aging Springer Spaniel with pretty bad arthritis; he used to put a can of beer in her dish in the evening to help her get to sleep.

I would think it’d depend where on Superior you’re at.
We boated on a large lake to a long, thin strip of land right in the middle of it. The strip of land couldn’t be more than 15 feet wide. On one side the water was frigid cold, hard to tolerate for more than a few minutes. The other side was like bathwater.

Geez, you can give dogs glucosamine and MSM to help with arthritis issues. You have to find the proper dose that works for each particular dog, but it can really help. Any vet could also give the guy some oral pain meds to make life easier for his pup too. Hell a baby aspirin could probably help with a little pain relief and inflammation.

Women cry at just about anything, and often nothing at all.
Men cry when they lose something of great value or closeness to them. Jobs, wives, kids, and loyal, loved pets are acceptable. Sometimes cars.

Last night’s local news (WI) had this story on, with lots of video. Anyone who watched it must have had tears in their eyes by the end of the story. Very moving, especially for those of us who have had a very eldery dog (my 14.5 year old dobie was who I was thinking of, now gone for 5 years).
