“forward” is Wisconsin’s motto - I'll admit my ignorance as to the mottoes of the various states.
My only exposure to the word has been from its Socialistic roots and the current pResidents usage of the term.

Can’t say I know any other state’s mottos either! :-) And for many years, WI has been a “progressive” i.e., liberal state. I have been amazed and delighted at the election results in 2010 and after!
