Jen - I also respect your posts as a general rule. However, in this instance we do not agree in the least.
Wintertime seems to take great pleasure in belittling anyone who disagrees with her and making outrageously false accusations against others and very few people are willing to publicly call her upon them. When those few of us do call her on it, she runs screaming to her disciples about how we are making personal attacks - while ignoring what she has called all o us at one time or another.
If she doesn’t want to answer honest questions - she needs to refrain from bragging about unprovable things when it comes to herself and her family - in fact she really should stop posting anything about her personal life unless and until she can back up anything she says.
That so many people here venerate her is beyond me.

I strive mightily to write about education issues in the most GENERAL manner possible. I can not, and have no, control over those who wish to take these extremely GENERAL comments about the state of education of our NATION in a personal manner .
Personally... I just assume that these people have a guilty conscience. If they didn't they would have enough self confidence to be complete satisfied about their decisions and would feel no need to personally insult me, call me an idiot, bully, vicious, nasty, or accuse me of lying, or being in need of mental health treatment. They would instead defend their position in a GENERAL manner about the state of socialist-entitlement schooling in GENERAL.
Believe me. In the early days of homeschooling, homeschooling moms and dads were the lightning rods for all sorts of negative opinions about homeschooling. It didn't bother me in the least. I saw the benefits of homeschooling every day of the week, and that was more than enough proof for me to smile, be happy ( as I almost always am), and calmly reaffirm my confidence in my decision.
