I never realized Major Garrett was such a liberal hack until he joined national journal. At fox, frankly, I didnt know where he fell on the spectrum. He always seemed fair and reasonable.
This is why the Bush-Rove approach of never answering criticisms, and letting the Obamanians blame everything on Bush without being refuted was wrong. If you don't deal with it when it starts, it continues to be used.
Obama and the Rats must be forgetting about the $500 BILLION they already gutted from Medicare.
I think the democrats will come to regret trying
to swallow Ryan whole, they will choke to death
on him and it will serve them right.
There is too much joy in Mudville as yet.
The tears and anger will come later.
I don't know about salivating, but Harry Reid has been drooling for some time now, mostly on himself; and it's got nothing to do with Paul Ryan.
If I were Romney and Ryan, I would respond with budget crticism this way:
When President Obama gets a budget passed through Congress, I might accept criticism from Democrats and the press on our budget proposal.
Whatever you say, Br’er Rabbit.
Zero is running his reelection campaign as effectively as he ran the economy
"This is why the Bush-Rove approach of never answering criticisms, and letting the Obamanians blame everything on Bush without being refuted was wrong. If you don't deal with it when it starts, it continues to be used."
Yep. And what's just as bad: letting Obama frame the terms of the debate ("Obama wants to help the middle class", "Romney's plan will increase taxes on the middle class to benefit the top 1%", etc.) Words are extremely important to the leftists- it's crucial to pay close attention to what they're really saying and emphasizing, and to attack them head on.
My gut tells me the left is terrified of this guy. He's a straight talker, and people understand him. He took Oboma out on Obomacare in 6 minutes! This guy is good.
I believe what he has to say will be heard, and people will like his message.
Conservatism always wins when used, and it'll win now more than ever. People fear for their country, and they need strong leadership right now to fix it.
I believe their gaiety is manufactured. They're trying to excite their base, but once Ryan starts getting voters attention, they're going to be squealing like pigs.
The fact that Barry is spending 3 days in Iowa (a state he won by 9.5% in 2008) this week tells you all you need to know. This article is a 100% fairy tale. Game on.
"Chris Kofinis, a top adviser to John Edwards' 2008 campaign..."
Yeah, Chris worked for the Breck Girl. Listen to Chris, the genius.
All in how it's played of course, but I don't think Obama has any thing to gain from any focus on the budget or economy.
He hopes to stick to marriage for pervs and freebies for sluts. Those are his winning issues and the media loves them.
Yeah, whistling past the graveyard. Anybody to the right of Castro is an extremist to the establishmedia.
Pray for America
Carter salivated over Reagan, Gore and Kerry salivated over Bush.....
“Obama Team Salivates Over Ryan Pick”
Excess salivation often preceeds puking.
Correct. The basis of Axelrod-Rahm-Obama-Chicago politics is to define your opponent. So far, Romney has made no attempt to define himself. The Chicago boys define Romney. Now they will define Ryan unless the GOP strategists get smart.
Ryan has the right message. His problem is that it is a long, complicated message. His audience, the swing voters, are ignorant of economics. They don’t know the difference between the deficit and debt, etc. So we need two parallel efforts.
1. Ryan needs sound bytes that sell.
2. Conservative non-profit educational groups need to target swing voters with educational messages on economics.
Groups like Heritage do us a disservice to advertise on Hannity and talk radio. They should advertise on sports and country stations where the swing voters are that we can attract. The reason so many are ignorant on economics is not just that the academics are leftist. It is also that we spend too much time and money preaching to the choir.
