Exactly,

If there is no way of detecting voter fraud, there will be no evidence of it.

If ID’s are unneccsary, why do we require a license to drive? I’m sure people are trustworthy enough to follow traffic laws with no one checking on them.

Furthermore, why do I need to make sure sure my employer has all of my information for tax withholding? I’m certain that we can trust everyone to pay their taxes without the government checking up on everyone like that.
