Obama: GOP economic plan 'trickle down fairy dust'
Chicago Tribune ^ | August 12, 2012 | By Rick Pearson and Monique Garcia

President Barack Obama today criticized the newly minted Republican team of Mitt Romney and Rep. Paul Ryan, telling a hometown crowd the pair is trying to sell an economic plan of "trickle down fairy dust" that doesn't work.

When talking about Ryan, Obama first said "no, no, no, no" to the boos that came from the crowd of about 1,000 younger supporters at the Bridgeport Art Center.

"My opponent and Congressman Ryan and their allies in Congress, they all believe that if we just get rid of more regulations on big corporations and we give more tax breaks to the wealthiest Americans, it will lead to jobs and prosperity for everybody else," Obama said.

Obama said what was holding the nation back from a booming recovery was "not the lack of ideas or good plans."

"What' holding us back is a brand of Washington politics that says we are not going to compromise no matter what. It's gridlock and stalemates and dysfunction and it's an idea propagated by the other side that somehow we're going to grow this economy from the top down and that if people at the top are doing really, really well, then everyone else is automatically going to benefit," he said.

I don’t know what’s worse.. Zero exclaiming he knows more about economics than Mitt and Paul Ryan, or the idiots that agree with him.

It really comes down to this, trickle down works and he doesn’t like it.

There is no debating the chicken and the egg when it comes to what fuels the financial activity in the world private enterprise and individual initiative or big government. Big government could not exist without private enterprise or individual initiative. Half of Europe proved it beyond a reasonable doubt from 1917-1990 and the rest of Europe is not proving the half-way there version of the same thing doesn’t work either.

The fact that this POS thinks again that the right people weren’t in charge, the right approach wasn’t used the right balance wasn’t struck proves he is not a consumer of objective world history.

the pair is trying to sell an economic plan of "trickle down fairy dust" that doesn't work.

It's not trickle down economics. It's laissez faire free market economics. It's the economics of a free society which works because it consists of natural economic principles and laws.

The GOP plan was working fine before Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid took over in 2006.

I blame Bush for not standing up for himself and his policies. His average unemployment rate was 4.7% and through-out it all it was called “the worst economy since Hoover” and no response from Bush. None whatsoever!

After 4 years of the Hoover mantra the dems won control of both houses. Just the knowledge of that caused businesses to slow down or even stop hiring in November after the 2006 elections.

No, pResident Obama. Our way has not been tried since before 2006 and it was not our way that got us into this mess. It was Pelosi/Reid that got us into this mess.

Bush’s policies didn’t give us Obama. Bush’s silence which gave us Pelosi/Reid helped give us Obama.

“...trickle down fairy dust”!

LOL! The DEMS are on the run. Relegated to nonsensical airhead descriptions of a train heading straight for them, just like Republicans were relegated to generalities and know nothing, fear mongering and insulting phrases when they had NOTHING to offer. RYAN has got them in a wad.

At last!

So, fundamentally, what are the mechanical differences between trickle-down and stimulus spending? I understand the political, policy and quality differences but what distinguishes the two on a mechanical level? I find them indistinguishable.

It doesn't surprise me when Obama says stuff like this, pixie dust and all. He's been living in a fairy universe since conception. It's his only reference point. He's made up every fact concerning his life.

He wrote (probably had it ghost written) Dreams FANTASIES of My Father, and never stopped.

Is it really all that surprising that this election it comes down to trickle down, or trickle on.

Obama has his own version of trickle down economics. Borrow from the future, spend the money on his supporters, and let some of it trickle down to the rest of us.

It doesn't surprise me when Obama says stuff like this, pixie dust and all. He's been living in a fairy universe since conception. It's his only reference point. He's made up every fact concerning his life. There are blank spots in this guy's life you could drive years on end through.

Trickle down from the private sector = "fairy dust".

Trickle down via government administered entitlement programs = double plus good
