Paul Ryan donations from a now-convicted Wis. businessman could draw fire

Democrats have wasted little time blasting Republican vice presidential pick Rep. Paul Ryan over his federal budget plan, but a more obscure part of his record could also draw attention: his relationship with a convicted Wisconsin businessman.

Ryan accepted nearly $60,000 in contributions from businessman Dennis Troha and his family, records show. Troha was later indicted on campaign finance charges over an Indian casino he sought to open. During the casino application process, Troha said, Ryan (R-Wis.) called federal regulators at his request.

Ryan was not found to have violated any laws, nor was he a target or key figure in the federal investigation, people familiar with the inquiry said. He was among more than 20 politicians of both parties who benefited from Troha’s largess. Troha was convicted of funneling illegal donations to other politicians, not Ryan, and Ryan donated Troha’s contributions to youth programs when the businessman was indicted.

The punk in the White House must be defeated.

But that doesn’t matter to dems. He will be called a felon soon.

“He will be called a felon soon.”

But that doesn’t matter to me. I know the Democrat party is chock full of felons and worse.

And I know their name calling is merely a tactic—accusing their opponents of their own deeds.

Hmmmm. Nothing here about Oboma and Tony Rezko, or Oboma and Bill Ayres the domestic terrorist, or Oboma and Van Jones the self proclaimed radical communist. How odd. Not even a mention.(/s)

This Troha character sounds like a sleazebag.

I wonder if he's related to Jon Corzine.

So we are supposed to believe that, although the WaPo new all the facts, they really believed the charge against Ryan “Could Draw Fire”, or were they just doing their job to help insure it “does draw fire” (erroneously). I have my guess.

Guess it’s time for Ryan to give a Nixon Checker’s speech.

I gave that scoundrel Troha’s dirty money to homeless orphans, unlike Obama, who is luxuriating in a home from Tony Rezko now sitting in a prison for fraud and bribery. And yes, I’m keeping the cocker spaniel for my kids and that republican cloth coat for Janna.

“Paul Ryan donations from a now-convicted Wis. businessman could draw fire”

The Washington Post could print insightful, balanced news articles...but I doubt that too!
