Ryan's Charge Up Entitlement Hill
WSJ ^ | February 19, 2011 | Paul Gigot

Posted on 08/13/2012 4:27:17 AM PDT by TurboZamboni

Senate Democrats like Chuck Schumer issue almost daily press releases attacking Mr. Ryan, Paul Krugman is obsessed and demeaning, and even President Obama can't stop mentioning him. Only this week, the president justified his own failure to tackle entitlements in his dud of a 2012 budget by saying that "the chairman of the House Republican budgeteers didn't sign on" to the final report of Mr. Obama's deficit commission.

What are they all so afraid of?

"Did he really say that?" asks Mr. Ryan about the president, sitting in his House office this week after another day of the hearings he now runs as chairman of the House Budget Committee. "I'm actually flattered." Perhaps they're worried, he says, "because we put out more than just bromides and platitudes. We put out specifics."

An interesting Gallup Poll showing that Seniors prefer Ryan’s budget plan over Obama’s.

“Ryan’s plan includes a complete restructuring of Medicare for people younger than 55. Pluralities of middle-aged Americans as well as those 65 and older prefer Ryan’s plan to Obama’s....”

Gallup Poll showing seniors prefer Ryan Plan to Obama’s Plan

FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.

I apologize to all. There is no way I can ping you all to every Paul Ryan article, so I’ll pick out a few that stand out. Anybody who wants a specific article pinged, please FReep Mail me and I’ll take care of it.

On the other hand, anybody can go to my FR home page and pick up the Wisconsin ping list from there. Just copy and paste into the “To:” box in your post.

Millions of senior citizens are smart enough to know that the federal government is broke, and the outrageously expensive programs put in by the vote-buyers in D.C. will not go on much longer.

If Axleface sees that Ryan’s plan is indeed favored by the powerful senior voters, we can expect The First Dictator to show up with Paul Ryan’s “Path to Prosperity” book.....only they’ll have stuck a label over the title to read: “Obama’s Path to Prosperity.” It’s not only a party of thieves and liars, but a bunch of plagiarists, as well.

When Obama raids money from medicare, the MSM fails to notice. We not only have to fight Obama, we have to fight the MSM...

Medicare has an unfunded liability of $36 trillion over the next 75 years, or about $317,000 per U.S. household, and in just the next 5 years, by 2013, Medicare’s unfunded liability is projected to grow by 33 percent, to $48 trillion – or about $412,402 per household.
When Social Security and Medicare are taken together, the total unfunded liability is $40 trillion, or about $353,000 per household. By 2013, that total will grow to $54 trillion, or $474,077 per household.

When we can’t afford the public health plan we have already, does it make sense to expand it? That’s exactly what the Democrats want to do with their health care overhaul. The public option by another name is just “Medicare for All.”

Politicians lied to us about the “Social Security Trust Fund.” They spent our money and the system cannot and will not deliver on it’s future promises.

In 1966, Medicare cost $3 billion. The House Ways and Means Committee, along with Lyndon Johnson’s administration, projected that Medicare would cost $12 billion, adjusted for inflation, by 1990. In 1990, Medicare costs were over $107 billion. That’s nine times Congress’ projections. That’s only 900% off! (Close enough for government work.) Medicare now costs over $400 billion and is heading towards bankruptcy. At least the “Ryan Plan” moves us in the right direction.

The 2012 Obama campaign team is a band of thieves and liars.......even worse than the 2008 team. If Axleface sees Ryan’s M/care plan garnering the powerful senior vote, watch the Chicago mobsters retitle Ryan’s book “Path to Prosperity”.....as “Obama’s Path to Prosperity.”

Nice post.

I see Axelrod as a kind of a reverse Clark Kent (/snix). Observe Axelrod on tv. I just love it when Axelrod goes before the cameras----faking that wide-eyed, puppy dog expression of his----trying so hard to look "harmless."

Man, he's good---I almost want to give him a dog biscuit.

Axelrod is like a reverse Clark Kent, the guy who morphs into Superman. In real life, Axelrod is a driven, demonic, power-mad Obama fixer who goes into the nearest telephone booth before a tv appearance to put on his disguise. He comes out as a mild-mannered spokesman, anxious to show America he wouldn't hurt a fly. ROTFL.

To me, every time I see Axlerod being interviewed, he talks like he’s grappling for words, is nervous and can’t wait to get outa there.
