I don’t know. A friend’s brother served in the Royal Marines and now he’s earning a shedload as an AEGIS contractor with a masters in security and risk management. From an outsider’s perspective, it seems to me that if you’ve got the wherewithal to become and serve as a Royal Marine, you don’t really need to worry about having to rely on a benefit’s package etc to get yourself successfuly through life.
