Yeah, looks like someone may have added an extra zero in their haste. Not sure, but the quantity may have been wrong on the gov RFI or cover sheet or the author's mistake. The first contract RPF for the 450 Million has been redacted (Ammo? What Ammo? DHS Takes Unprecedented Step of Redacting Mass Ammunition Purchase ).

Still, 65 - 75 million rounds is a hell of a lot of ammo when combined with the original 450 million rounds, NOAA and recent SSA request for 174,000 Rounds of .357 Ammo.

Some questions that come to mind are:

Why the urgent need (notice the short delivery times)?
Why are such large quantities needed?
Why .357 caliber?
Is this related to the shut down of Ruger sales to the general public?
Does Ruger have a secret contract to produce huge numbers of arms for the government; some in .357 caliber?
Who will be taking delivery?
Will the SSA distribute arms and ammo out to certain groups like it does with commodity cheese?

Something is going down here and the government doesn't want the public to know for some reason.

The same drug thug groups that they had sold to via Fast & Furious...
