People of Color: Romney/Ryan Plans Take Us Back to ‘Less Equitable’ Times
AFL-CIO ^ | 8/13/2012 | Mike Hall

Posted on 08/13/2012 3:06:01 PM PDT by mdittmar

“For progressives and people of color, it’s hard to imagine a worse choice” than Mitt Romney’s selection of Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) as his running mate, writes Imara Jones on the blog Colorlines today. He says the pair:

represent a retread of 40 years’ worth of Republican ideas on economics, race and the role of government. Not content to let failure remain dormant, they want to reanimate bankrupt concepts and take them to a whole, new level.

Jones writes that “Romney’s and Ryan’s discredited proposals would take America back to a less-just, less equitable place.”

To them, that era of racial and economic injustice was America at its best—and the effort to end it created the current economic mess….Nothing illustrates this perverse understanding of economic history more dramatically than the very reason why Ryan was chosen: the popularity amongst conservatives of his infamous “Ryan budget.”

Lies, lies and more lies, but his target audience, those that can actually read, will lap this nonsense up.

People of color = anybody except Whites.

Imara Jones, baby, equitable means you get the same opportunity as anyone else to use your abilities, drive, and intelligence to go as far as you can and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Take your hand off the fruits of my labor or you may just pull back a stump.

This is rich coming from the AFL-CIO. A group whose raison d’etre is to keep blacks from getting a job.

Oh, the irony!! Who has a "perverse understanding of history"????? These black activists make it sound like the Republicans were responsible for those "less equitable times." The times that were created by Democrats, who institutionalized racism after the Civil War and brutally suppressed blacks through terror tactics to keep them from voting. The Democrats and their military arm, the KKK, systematically and institutionally disenfranchised blacks, and used terror to keep them from voting. Those are the "less equitable times." During that entire period, Republicans fought to protect blacks and protect their right to vote. Then things switched around in the 60s when Dems realized they could bribe blacks to vote for them with Socialism.

Oh, just shut up, Imara, or Tameka, or whatever your name is. I’m SICK of everything being about black. Look at the name of her blog: “Colorlines.” It’s all people like her see and think about.

Mark Levin just said it’s almost as if they want to go back to Civil War days.

I must disagree. Blacks do not suffer more under Democrats. Instead the Democrats abort them as fast as they possibly can. Then they don’t suffer anymore.

“People of color = anybody except Whites.”

People of color = brown skin, brown hair, brown eyes

People not of color, lighter skin, red hair, blonde hair, auburn hair, black hair, all shades and colors in between. Blue eyes, green eyes, hazel eyes, grey eyes, and every color in between

“People of color’’ Hmmmm? So if we go back to referring to black people as ‘’coloreds’’, is that racist?

That cartoon is more real than you dare imagine. Just last night I saw a TV commercial for some minor league cell phone company that was connected to Virgin Mobile. I snapped to attention when they said, “...if you are on food stamps, you may qualify for our service”. I could not believe my ears.
