I wonder if CNN’s poor ratings have anything to do with it.

I believe there's been at least one other incident in recent days where CNN actually showed a surprising degree of fairness in dealing with Democrat lying. I can't remember exactly; it was late last week, Thursday or Friday.

I've long wondered why none of these going-down-the-tubes news networks doesn't adjust their hard-left trajectory just a skosh, if only to see what would happen. I mean good grief, every single one of them has been pushing the left-wing line without letup since right around the time Rush Limbaugh got popular, in 1991 or so. More than 20 years, without a second's letup.

Now pretty much every one of them is a non-profit corporation, whether their shareholders like it or not. You would think one of them might decide to pull it's collective head out of its you-know-what if only for a day or two.

Maybe that's what CNN is doing. I doubt it, but it's not mathematically impossible.

“I’ve long wondered why none of these going-down-the-tubes news networks doesn’t adjust their hard-left trajectory just a skosh, if only to see what would happen.”

I could personally turn CNN ratings around in one week. I’d start by hiring James O’Keefe and give him a million dollars to start with and tell him to go do anything he wants to do as long as it was legal.

Then I’d institute good ol’ fashioned yellow journalism as the metric for raises and advancement. The more people you get fired with your stories, the more money you make. There would be bonuses for firings, like the bonuses the New Orleans Saints paid their defensemen for cheap shots. I’d also concentrate on the left because that’s where all the low hanging fruit is since everything they’ve done for the last few years has been completely covered up.

Heck, I think I’d give Joe Arpaio his own show. I’d have a show called “The Birther Show”. I’d hire Glenn Beck and tell him to bring down as many political figures as possible. Another show would be devoted to whistle blowers, both already outted ones as well as new ones, which would be featured with silhouettes and altered voices.

Yellow journalism fireworks 24 hours a day. It would be better than a soap opera. People wouldn’t be able to stop watching. Ratings zoom up and sponsors line up. I’d make money doing this and make lots of it.

They were solidly on-board with Carter's Greenies and Pinkos back in the 70's until the Iranian Embassy crisis; that's when ABC News launched Nightline, as a kind of daywatch.

The MSM were all hooking it for Carter right up to the election; everyone was nonplussed when Reagan won so handily -- hell, it was a landslide. No incumbent since maybe Grover Cleveland had ever been blown out so hard.

The MSM talking heads were subdued until 1987, when they started cranking up for the '88 race .... and went all-out for the Dims until Dukakis collapsed, and then you could see the air go out of them until Clinton arrived. When Slick won, they started to see their chance to put America away forever, and they've been on a tear ever since.

I think Rush addressed this not to long ago and the gist was the MSM folks who call the shots are more concerned with perception than reality. That if they directed their anchors and personalities to be more objective and less lefty, they would find work elsewhere and their network would be trashed internally and by the other lib media. So they've painted themselves into a corner.

Only other choice is to do what pmsnbc did and go "all in" lefty aka the dem party mouthpiece.

I do wish there was a conservative news network that would give Fox a run for their money. They would state that they would not be fair and balanced and would report on news in a way that supports a conservative agenda.
