Marco Rubio to introduce Mitt Romney at RNC
St. Petersburg - Tampa Bay Times ^ | August 14, 2012 | Richard Danielson

TAMPA — In a showcase role on his party's biggest stage, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio will introduce Mitt Romney for his speech to accept the nomination for president on the last night of the Republican National Convention.

It is an introduction aimed at giving Romney a boost from a rising star in a must-win state, but it will almost certainly further enhance Rubio's standing, too.

....The GOP expects the audience to be huge. Four years ago, Sen. John McCain's acceptance speech drew 38.9 million viewers nationwide, a figure that approaches the viewership of the opening ceremonies at the London Olympics and is similar to the Oscars.

Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus called the senator "without a doubt one of America's most dynamic and inspiring leaders."

"It is fitting that he will take on such an important role at our convention in his home state," Priebus said. "Throughout his career, he has shown true dedication to constitutional principles, fiscal responsibility and free enterprise. As the son of immigrants, he has witnessed the promise of the American Dream firsthand and has worked to secure that promise for future generations."

In a statement of his own released through the RNC, Rubio said he's confident Romney and Ryan will "restore great leadership to our country."

"Future generations of Americans depend on the hard work we will do in the weeks and months ahead," he said. "I know that together we will be successful in changing Washington and putting leaders in place who are committed to creating more jobs and opportunities for our people."....

38.9 million viewers watched McCain’s speech wow. I will not be watching any of Romney’s RINO rump wrangling love fest. If there is a particular speech there is the internet and many blogs will stream them.
If you feel strongly about Mittens don’t watch his love fest, if you’re in a Red state vote Goode or Johnson. If you live in a swing state put on a HazMat suit and clothes pin your nose and vote Mittens.
Obama must be defeated at all cost.

How is preventing many prominent conservatives from speaking at the ‘12 GOP Convention a good thing, overall, for: conservatives, conservatism, and Mitt Romney? Angering enough conservative voters may end up preventing Mitt Romney from, actually, winning the general election, this November.

” Mario Rubio OTOH, is such a sniveling, pandering, pro-amnesty, michelle bachmann bashing, POS that I cannot listen or tune into him.”

Neither can I.

That is the best news! Marco is 'electric'. He is also, most critically; by his moral lights and love for America; an authentic patriot.

So Marco Rubio should go 'under the bus' because the nominee is Romney? We should abandon our best 'speakers/our best hope for the future of our Party. . .because; we 'lost' and 'got' Romney?

There IS a bigger picture here; not that you seem to care; but 'your choice'; but certainly makes the job of creating fertile 'ground' for better Repubs to rise in leadership; so as to carry America forward; a much more challenging task.

I actually like Rubio a lot. He’s a pro-life conservative. I wouldn’t throw him under the bus. I just think it doesn’t matter who introduces a liberal who lied his way to the republican nomination.

And my point; per 'humble opinion' is that it does matter per the 'come what may' of our Party; and America's future.

Unreal how Romney sycophants can only cite “hate” as the reason freedom-loving Americans reject their liberal candidate.

GTV lectures xzins:

I know what Romney is, but he will not scare business and the economy.

Correction: you HOPE he will not scare business and the economy. It's a hope based on wishful thinking, as Romney has an established RECORD of increasing government regulation and tyranny over both businesses AND the economy, in the name of everything from "saving the planet" to micro-managing health care to forcing businesses such as adoption agencies to accommodate homosexual "rights."

You cannot vote "against" Obama any more than I can vote "against" Romney. Voting "against" is imaginary; you can only vote FOR. I'm voting FOR weakening the popular mandate of whichever liberal wins in 2012, Obama or Romney. I'm voting third party KNOWING, not wishing, but KNOWING that mathematically, every third part vote, no matter who casts it for whom, will reduce the percentage of the popular mandate of whichever liberal wins.

The last time a liberal president was elected on a plurality, conservatives impeached him; the time before, they shoved him hard with the Republican Revolution. Pluralities favor conservatives when it comes to fighting liberal presidents, and seeing as how the next president is going to be a liberal whether he's a Democrat or a Repblican, the best way a conservative can USE his vote to defend freedom and limited government, is to vote for a plurality.

In addition to denying either liberal a plurality, I will also be voting for Goode, so that a conservative 3rd party gets at least one more voter’s worth of push.

Personally, I believe new party’s are better built from state and congressional districts up, but presidential campaigns increase visibility and name recognition.
