On point #1. Er, it's not just the President who's on a spending spree. The House can reign in spending. After all they have the constitutional authority to do so, yes? Now, would Obama veto? Of course but that's not the issue. The House could deny Obama all his goodies. But they don't so you have to ask why. They like the money too.
I'm not sure a change in command will affect this but hopefully I can be proven wrong. Perhaps a change in Speakership. Sorry but we continue to put hopes on politicians who got us into this mess. A great majority of them do not have our best interests.
