Increasingly, I'm sensing an R&R landslide. In the end, the hard-casers on FR and their like will not have made a difference. This is unfortunate...as, in order to have influence within an administration, one should usually be seen as a supporter. Anti-Romney, anti-Mormon conservative activists aren't going to have much sway for the next eight years.

Interestingly enough, this has been on my mind since the Ryan pick setoff a seimic shaker in the political world. I'm starting to see 2012 as 1932 in reverse. In other words, Romney will establish a new governing coalition like FDR did in '32, except that it will be opposite to FDR's New Deal coalition.

This coalition would consist of moderate independents, Jacksonian Democrats, and mainstream Republicans, the kind that FReepers like to refer to as RINO's. If conservatives are not seen as a part of this coalition, come the day after the inauguration when they ask for a seat at the table. they will be cast into the outer darkness where there will be nothing but weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth. It creates a dilemma as to how to exert political influence.

I agree, a landslide just may play out of the 2010 results along with a clear understanding of what Obama has done and what he may do if given 4 more years.

Anti-Romney, anti-Mormon conservative activists will end up on the outside looking in.
