Asked about how his plan differs from that of his running mate, Romney could not name specific differences on Monday.
“Well, the items that we agree on I think outweigh any differences there may be. We haven’t gone through piece by piece and said, ‘Oh here’s a place where there’s a difference,’” Romney said. “I can’t imagine any two people even in the same party who have exactly the same positions on all issues.”
He added, “My plan for Medicare is very similar to his plan for Medicare.”

On the news, Romney said his plan was nothing like Ryan’s plan and tried to back away from the plan. Now suddenly they are alike???? We REALLY need to get rid of Romney ASAP. Ryan would make a wonderful President.
I heard one report yesterday that quoted Romney’s spokesman as saying something to the effect that “Mitt Romney is at the top of this ticket, and it’s his plans we’re running on.” I thought, “Great - just when I was excited about one good choice by this campaign, they’re already pulling a, ‘shut up and color’ on Ryan’s ideas”. Idiot.
They are not simpletons. They knew picking Ryan will mean that his main policies and positions get inherited into the universe of positions to defend. This is a good thing. The Ryan pick shows Romney as going “all in” and making the campaign about real substantive budget issues and healthcare issues.
