PAUL RYAN, LIVE IN DENVER

Paul Ryan campaigned today at the high school gym in Lakewood, Colorado, and reader Regan D. was on the scene with his two kids, ages 12 and 15. According to the Denver Post article, the gym was crowded with an enthusiastic audience. Mr. D. sends along the photo at the left to prove the point. Mr. D. also conveys the best line from Ryan’s speech, overlooked by the Post: “[Obama] promised to cut the deficit in half in four years. I rest my case on that one.”

In the lower right quadrant of the panoramic photo that Mr. D also sends along, it looks like the Secret Service is on the case. Mr. D. reports that no hecklers disrupted Rep. Ryan’s remarks.

Having moved to CS the year you left, it is far superior to the cost of living and weather than what both Ohio and Michigan offer. My taxes on assessed property of 390k is 2100 a year (and the value has gone up each year)...in Michigan in 2000 on $130K assessed value was $4200. If TABOR were ever repealed, we will truly become the second CA with the dominance the Democrats have enjoyed the last 10 years.

Saw this on the same page on Powerline:

Erskine Bowles: Ryan budget is “sensible...honest, serious” (former Clinton chief of staff. He says about Ryan, “I’m telling you, this guy is amazing.”)
